Crop of the Month Part 2 - Roses

With the New Year comes a new growing season, and before long, rose producers all over the country will start to pot up new crops. Most growers shoot for target ship dates starting just before Mother’s Day. There are a couple different ways that growers will produce these rose crops. The easiest way to do this…

Please contact your local Harrell’s Sales Representative to see how our leading technology can help you achieve your water management goals.

Fleet is for soils with high water holding capacity like clays, loams, native soils, or turf with a lot of thatch.

  • Move water off the surface, through the thatch layer and into the rootzone, keeping playing surfaces firmer and drier while maintaining optimum moisture and oxygen levels in the rootzone.
  • More than a traditional penetrating surfactant engineered with HydrOtecH™ technology.
  • HydrOtecH™ enhances surfactant performance by increasing soil hydrating sites and continually removing some of the organic acid coatings from soil particles.
  • Virtually eliminate performance peaks and valleys typically seen with traditional wetting agents.
  • Excellent control over soil water repellency and water movement problems.

RATE: 5oz/1000 sq ft monthly or 2 ½ oz/1000 sq ft every two weeks (in 2 gal of water). If severe soil water repellency, high temperatures and/or very dry conditions persist higher rates may be necessary ‐ 8 oz/1000 sq ft monthly or 4 oz/1000 sq ft every two weeks. Fleet is safe, but must be watered‐in to move the surfactant through the thatch layer and deeply and uniformly throughout the rootzone – water in with ½ inch of water.

Symphony for soils where more retention of moisture is needed – very coarse, sandy soils, new courses where there is very little organic matter or USGA greens.

  • Maintain adequate moisture in hard to wet soils or soils with very high percolation rates.
  • Reduce drought stress and wilt.
  • Engineered with the HydrOtecH™ technology.

RATE: 5oz/1000 sq ft monthly or 2 ½ oz/1000 sq ft every two weeks (in 2 gal of water). If severe soil water
repellency, high temperatures and/or very dry conditions persist higher rates may be necessary ‐ 8 oz/1000 sq ft
monthly or 4 oz/1000 sq ft every two weeks. Water‐in Symphony with 1/3 inch of water to move wetting agent
into and throughout the rootzone.

ReWet is an affordable, combination product that contains penetrating and hydrating wetting agent properties. ReWet can quickly treat localized dry spots on high areas or wet spots in low lying areas. ReWet can also be used in a program approach to manage water movement issues and soil water repellency.* ReWet’s flexible chemistry can be injected or sprayed.

  • spacer Quick turfgrass recovery from Localized Dry Spots and Wet Spots.
  • Maintain uniform moisture levels without over or under-watering.
  • Can be safely tank mixed with most soil-directed fertilizers and chemicals.
  • Inject through your irrigation system to not only maximize irrigation efficiency but to manage minimum to moderate levels of soil water repellency*.
  • Maintain uniform, consistent, quality looking and playing turf.

*Depending on severity of soil water repellency, Fleet or Symphony may be needed to correct soil conditions. Results from a Water Drop Penetration Test and/or a complete Physical Structure Analysis can help determine which Harrell’s wetting agent is right for you.

RATE: Apply ReWet at 5 – 8 oz/1000 sq ft in 1 gal of water as needed or on a weekly basis until turf conditions
improve. Begin monthly treatment or apply as needed at 5 – 8 oz/1000 sq ft

High performing penetrant that can be injected through the irrigation system or sprayed course-wide. Syringe will quickly move water, and everything it carries, off the surface and into the rootzone.

spacer

  • Improve irrigation efficiency and save water (even with older irrigation systems) by promoting uniform water movement into and through soils. More water gets into the soil and is plant available.
  • Safe to tank mix with most chemicals and fertilizers.
  • Aids in uniform movement and distribution of soil‐directed chemicals and fertilizers into and throughout the soil for precise placement, better performance and less waste.
  • Improve penetration and reduce run‐off and evaporation of water, and everything water carries.

RATE: Injection 1 – 2 quarts or 5 – 10 ppm per acre. Syringe can be applied through all injection systems. Spray 1 – 2 oz/1000 sq ft in 2 gal of water.

Safe, long lasting surfactant which provides 90 – 120 days performance. Convenient, long-term surfactant performance for a minimum of 90 days.

spacer

  • Safe in any weather condition on all turf types.
  • Excellent long-term care of fairways, bunker banks, roughs or any hard to reach areas. Keep water penetrating (even on steep or sloped areas) and moving throughout the rootzone for optimum air and moisture.

RATE: Apply 16 oz/1000 sq ft in 5 gal of water or apply 8 oz/1000 sq ft in 2 gal of water. Follow this with a second application of 8 oz/1000 sq ft 7 ‐10 days later. TANK MIXING is not recommended unless prior experience has been favorable.
