Wilcox Elementary (2009)

Welcome! My name's Jim, and I write books. And also short stories. Plus a fairly regular blog. Not to mention the occasional nonfiction article. And once I wrote and sold a small bumper sticker. But these days, it's mostly books.

I made my first professional fiction sale in 1998 with "Blade of the Bunny," an award-winning story which appeared in Writers of the Future XV.  Since then, my short fiction has appeared in places like Realms of Fantasy, Sword & Sorceress, and Turn the Other Chick.  I've written seven books for DAW (so far), including The Stepsister Scheme and the humorous Goblin Quest series.

Want to check out my work?  In addition to the free short fiction in the sidebar, you can also preview the first chapter from each of my books:

  • Goblin Quest
  • Goblin Hero
  • Goblin War
  • The Stepsister Scheme
  • The Mermaid's Madness
  • Red Hood's Revenge
  • The Snow Queen's Shadow [pdf, epub]

I maintain the web site myself, so if you find any problems, please let me know using the Contact link.

Questions should be sent to askagoblin@jimchines.com. Jig et al. will answer whatever questions they want. If your question doesn’t get answered, [...]
