#NYFW Fall 2012 – KLS Faves from the Runway: Marchesa
Marchesa means a lot of things to a lot of people. To me it means, time to PARTY! Sexy, social and with a point of view, the gowns and dresses delivered – big time.
The palette was a champagne dream; a concoction of golds, silvers, a bit of red and heavy on texture. Loved the lame, tulle, the full skirts and the constructions fit for a princess. What do you think?
#NYFW Fall 2012 – KLS Faves from the Runway: Victoria Beckham
Things are heating up for Victoria Beckham. The designer’s latest collection had a decidedly prep school feel. Once again, Beckham opted to personally present her collection to fashionistas and members of the press.
The pieces have the same beloved Beckham appeal – softer palette, optimized use of the shift shape with simple lines. Added to the collection? Texture! Jacquard, shimmers, sharp colors and lively prints.

#NYFW Fall 2012 – KLS Faves from the Runway: Vera Wang
Vera Wang’s vision for Fall 2012 is sheer genius – ha! Smokey greys mingle with charcoals and silvers while misty blue and a raging orange break up what is otherwise a darker, pensive palette.
Wang’s silhouettes were ladylike but dramatic: fur and metal accents against silk and leather. Arms were bare. Shoulders were severe. And layering was front-and-center.
#NYFW Fall 2012 – KLS Faves from the Runway: Rodarte
Drawing inspiration from Australia, the Mulleavy sisters cobbled together a collection with a decidedly retro feel. The feeling of the collection was from a forgotten era, but there was a lot today’s trends and thirst for practicality on the runway.
I loved the the shearling jackets and oversized collars on sweaters. Ethni-Romantic prints were flawlessly applied to our favorite shapes – which , of course, included gowns – allowing for movement, motion and drama.
