Baker River Sees Record Salmon Returns

On the Baker River, where an all-time low of 99 adult sockeye salmon returned in 1985, Puget Sound Energy has since shattered the river’s record-high return, with more than 22,500 fish counted in 2010 and 36,600 fish in 2011. The Baker River is yet another example of the hydropower industry’s commitment to aquatic ecosystems and deploying state-of-the-art, fish-friendly technologies.
