Captain Obvious is a music blog that focuses on independent music and features album reviews, artist interviews, various features, playable mp3 samples, and the occasional foray into literature and independent film. Started on a whim in 2007, Captain Obvious is run primarily by Royce Wagner with occasional contributions from friends and fellow music enthusiasts. Covering a wide gamut of genres from indie rock to psychedelic to folk/americana, Captain Obvious has also featured interviews with several up and coming musicians: Sharon Van Etten, The Antlers, Bon Iver, Frightened Rabbit, The Rural Alberta Advantage, The Appleseed Cast, The Twilight Sad, and J. Tillman, among others. The content on CO is constantly evolving to match its creator’s ever-shifting tastes.
