Have you ever thought about where our water comes from? In the piece, Just Add Water: Life in Arizona from Terrascope Radio, native Arizonians from Tucson talk about the water supply and how they receive their water from the Colorado River.
After hearing this piece, I realized how grateful I should be for the water I get to use. Water is a precious resource and we only have so much of it. If we keep using it at such a high rate as we are, we might never be able to use water again. Hearing this piece makes me realize we should conserve the water we have, because there are people who aren't as lucky as we are.
It's also interesting…

Maria Isabel wasn't supposed to finish the 6th grade. She lived in a tiny mountain ranch in Mexico, where girls stayed home to cook and raise children. If her father had had his way, that's exactly what she would have done.
Instead, Maria Isabel went to a private high school, moved to the United States, and got a college degree. Now, she's a registered nurse living a comfortable life in Texas, where her daughter is studying radio, TV and film at the University of Texas. Her daughter Victoria Campos, that is -- the featured producer of this week's Youthcast.
This story is like a three-layer-cake labor of love. Layer one: Victoria is…

In the article "Oasis Recycling-one girl's journey," Noloyiso Mthana explains her lifestyle in recycling of paper, plastic, and glass in the town of Claremont. She has to take two trains to be able to keep the planet a healthier place to live, but to her, it's worth it. She hopes that everyone can pitch in and do their part in helping make the planet a better place to live. She says if we can't recycle something, to reuse it - that way we won't waste anything.
I was very inspired by this piece. I believe that everyone should take part in recycling, or saving energy by doing one thing to help this planet be a better place to live. I have heard many speakers come to my school and tell us to do one thing to help the planet, like turn off lights or…

My favorite piece was Legal Emancipation by Jordan Teklay. I think that the piece was so honest and true. He put himself out in the open and didn’t hold back at all, including the part where he talked about his mom (and even put a clip of her in the phone talking about winning the lottery). He was so vulnerable, I loved when he added the part about him being sick because I felt like it brought the idea of him being emancipated and how it's not as easy as he thought it would be. All in all I think the piece was great and well put together it is definitely my favorite piece of the month
