Light enough to use as I watch films from the comfort of my sofa. Poratable enough as I jump up and down on my old machine.

There once was a laptop from Dell
That was faster than my Packard Bell
    It was shiny I guess,
    Its name was XPS
And had a longer battery life than my wife’s App-el.

When it comes to blogging about chocolate, speed is of the essence. Without a fast, reliable laptop, the chocolate is very often gone before I have a chance to write about it!

The speed of my mind and my fingers may finally be matched by the speed of the machine, and the creation of useful blog posts, videos and podcasts will be accelerated => more content + more social sharing x speed = successful blogger!

    Thanks, Joanna

To use a machine such as the new Dell XPS 15z is simple; anyone can do it. Being able to answer the questions of how and why it works takes a physicist. Having this beautiful machine under my fingertips will allow me to spread physics to the far reaches of the internet. It will allow me to create multimedia not possible on my current machine. But most importantly, it will allow me to have the bragging rights that come with owning a Dell computer.

I need a shiny new Dell laptop to accompany me on my proposed round the world trip next year. I need a shiny new Dell laptop to blog my trip, keep friends updated about my travels and spread the word as far and wide as possible(about 12,00 miles wide!). I need a shiny new Dell laptop because I really don’t think my old laptop (not made by Dell) will be well enough to make the journey. I need a shiny new Dell laptop………………..

    Say what, say what

Got a screen so sharp I almost cut my vision,
Editing my photos is no longer such a mission,
My new Dell’s as skinny as a partied-out Lohan,
Ask to borrow XPS, you know I’m saying no, man.

It’s lighter than a feather so I’m rollin’ into Starbucks,
Ladies throwing glances cos my lappy’s so deluxe, shucks,
Time to get my blog on, wi-fi action such a breeze,
Processing effortless – think it’s gonna freeze? Fool please.

We’re talking Intel power from the second generation,
Packing graphics with more bite than an underfed alsatian,
Keyboard’s backlit, chiclet, get your post up lickety split,
Bloggers so jealous of my kit it makes ‘em wanna spit and quit.

That vid I embedded streams like water over mountain rocks,
Webcam so crisp YouTubers dazzled by my locks,
XPS set in a case of aluminium that’s been anodized,
Don’t know what that word means yet, it hasn’t really been analysed.

    PEACE

To take my blogging quest to the top. I’d love a a new Dell XPS 15z laptop. It will make me write more, from morning until night and I look forward seeing you all at the London Bloggers meetup night.”

Never has there been a more deserving laptop winner. I’m hoping that if Stu wins, he’s use his laptop to record this little rap ditty for us all to enjoy.

Well well well, the light laptop from Dell,
Prompting me to yell “No more slow computing hell,”
Weight lifting farewell. Blog’s out of its shell,
No more mis-spells or low battery cells,
Goodbye machines that rebel. It’s my time to excel.

As a 47-year-old man who is still using his Toshiba Pentium 2, you can imagine how much this Dell could impact my life. I’ve had the Toshiba for many years after getting rid of my Sinclair ZX81.

I have a collection of snails that I would have to get rid of to accommodate this fine Dell laptop – they currently live on a big tray on my desk. Every morning I count them and try to connect with each one spiritually but I will be happy to donate them to the French restaurant around the corner.

My therapist says I would make a great blogger and that this laptop would only help me. He died a few years ago but we communicate via the snails. And ultimately, that’s what a laptop device is for. Communication. With your snails, your therapist, and the world.

Intuitive, powerful, elegant, slender – me (on a good day) or the divine Dell XPS 15z? With the allure and appeal to entice me away from my current squeeze. The perfect partner, inspiration, aide and ally in my bright, bold new blog project. Imagine the great things we’ll do together…

My current laptop is three years old. It weighs a metric ton (or thereabouts), and singlehandedly maxes out the hand luggage limit on most airlines. Its tiny brain is full from all of the photos, videos, and other media I have stuffed into it during my travels.

A new new Dell XPS 15z, on the other hand, would work wonders for my blogging career. Powerful enough to store all of my photos and videos, slim enough to fit in my carry-on, and light enough to allow me to bring a toothbrush on my travels, it would not only help me blog more about the amazing places in this world, but it would also let me do so in style. And without offensive breath.

As a technology blogger, it’s all about speed, being comprehensive and being compact in my quest for blogging greatness.

In my 6 months of blogging, I’ve blogged 1,123 times and written 426,408 words. Printed as a paperback book, my blog would be 4 times thicker than the Dell XPS 15z [1]. Yet it could fit my blog onto the hard drive 200,000 times over [2]. I’d have to blog for 1.2million years to fill it up. With the super-fast wi-fi, my 6 years worth of blogging downloads in 0.1 seconds [3].

The Dell XPS 15z brings speed, performance and compactness to my quest for blogging greatness. It’s my 1.2 million years worth of technology in one box, and my 6 years of blogging appearing in one blink of an eye.

[1] At 350 words per page, the blog would fill ~1200 pages in a paperback. This paperback would have the thickness of 3.8” which compares to 1” thickness of the XPS 15z.
[2] The fulltext of my blog is 3.5MB. With a 750GB hard drive, the fulltext could fit on the hard drive over 200,000 times. With 3.5MB of writing per 6 years, it takes 1.2million years to fill up the hard drive.
[3] With the wi-fi chip delivering up to 300Mbit/s bandwidth, my 3.5MB blog fulltext would download in ~0.1 second.

I’m not sure if it will allow me to blog more, seeing as I’m a Mac user and having a nice PC will mainly allow me to game more. Maybe I should start a game blog? There’s not enough of those yet, right?

My cats keep hogging my current laptop:

    www.flickr.com/photos/mseckington/5929820421/

It’s ridiculous. Every time I turn my back, they’ll be there, watching crazy cat videos on YouTube, or googling catnip recipes. They’ve even written blog posts on my blog, pretending to be me! They’ve been hinting for a while now that they need their own laptop, and I think they’ve got their eyes set on the Dell XPS:

To be fair, it’s not just my laptop they keep using. It’s ALL my gadgets.

The real question here is what makes a blog “great”

Is it one that entertains? Inspires? Informs?

Ultimately, the greatness of a blog can only be judged by the lasting impact it has on it’s readers. Does the blog touch, move and inspire the reader to be a better person? Do things in a better way? Live life in a different way? Make a difference in the world?

By the above definition, I am certainly on a quest for blogging greatness. I want to help my readers be the best they can be whilst also making the world a better place. And I want to be the best at what I do because then I know I will be making a huge and lasting impact on the world.

I get my inspiration from historical figures like Gandhi and Mandela who fought for what they believed in, and against all odds changed history.

Another inspirational role model is Michael Dell who single-handedly took on the might of the likes of IBM and created a multi-billion company.

So what better tool to help me on my quest for blogging greatness than the new Dell machine?

And why the Dell XPS 15z laptop?

    Because greatness recognises greatness spacer

    Remember:-

“Some laptops are born great, some laptops achieve greatness and some laptops have greatness thrust on them. But the ones created by Dell are by far the best.”

With a Dell XPS 15z, you can:-
    • Go out there and walk with a swagger, just like James Dean.
    • Hold your head high and look people in the eye, just like James Bond.
    • Speak your thunder and magnetise your listeners, just like Barack Obama.
    • Dress like a flamingo and strut your stuff, just like Lady Gaga.
    • And blog your way to blogging greatness.

You deserve to strut your stuff on your blog.

So strut it. Because you can. With a Dell.

Dell, in its recent promotional tagline at London Bloggers meetup used Lonely Planet’s co founder Tony Wheeler’s quote i.e. “never missing deadline even on mountains of Nepal” with Dell’s products. As a participant of the event from Nepal, the tagline inspired me to come up with a wish for blogging from mountains of Nepal and wonder how it would be to write a first blog from the highest mountain (Everest) of the world! Might be a fantasy, but come ‘on after NCell’s introduction of 3G internet to this highest peak, we have seen live video conference from Everest, first tweet from Everest and now how does a first blog from Everest sound like?

XPS 15z from Dell (as Dell inspired me to come up with this fantasy) looks like an awesome tool for me to fulfil this desire. After all, isn’t it that this smart, intuitive machine promises to give the best of everything while sacrificing nothing? So why should I sacrifice this quest of my blogging?

Thus, having a Dell XPS 15z laptop will help me to fulfil my fantasy of visiting Nepal this summer and blogging from the highest peak of the world. And oh wouldn’t that be blogging greatness or will it just remain as another fantasy?

I want to start blogging but my current laptop has an overheating problem, sometimes I burn my fingers and I need to leave it to cool off…

The battery is also a problem as it doesn’t last more than 1 hour; even though I bought a new one I always have the same problem…

So if I want to start blogging wouldn’t be great to start with a superb new Dell XPS 15z laptop?
I think the new Dell XPS 15z laptop will solve all my problems and will help me to start blogging.

I want to start a travel blog and as this Dell is the lightest windows laptop, will be perfect to carry with me wherever I go, so I will keep my audience updated with all my travels, pictures and videos.
