Like the site says: " Creative Allies is a community for anyone who loves to create. Creative people from anywhere in the world can upload Creations for their favorite bands and get paid." Crowd Interactive built the site from scratch on May 2009 having Ruby on Rails as the framework to turn their idea into a really cool website.
LESSONS LEARNED
This project brought us many challenges which unveiled the amazing power of the RoR framework; we implemented image processing (for upload validation and watermarking), a full-text search module with suggestions, online payment (PayPal and credit card) and social network integration.
How Creative Allies Utilizes Crowd
We implemented the early stages of the site (prototype, beta version) and officialy launched after 6 months where both front-end and back-end were built. After a year and when the goals were accomplished, the Creative Allies crew took over.
