Ironmanlife: Catching up with Tom Schuler
Before Lance Armstrong managed to make North America aware of the world of European cycling, there were a precious few athletes from this side of the Atlantic who were able to make a dent in that part of the cycling world. The group of men who set the stage for Armstrong's heroics more than a decade before he would take his first Tour title mostly came from one team: 7-Eleven. Tom Schuler was a member of that team and, once he stopped racing his bike, he became one of the sport's premier cycling team managers. Timex Multisport Team Training Camp
The Timex Multisport Team is made up of 48 athletes from around the world who compete in a variety of triathlon and multisport events. They're having their annual training camp this year at the Timex Performance Center, the home of the Super Bowl champion New York Giants, so we thought we'd get down to East Rutherford, New Jersey to check out the action.
