Welcome! Come worship with us on Sunday:

spacer Newport Presbyterian Church is an inclusive Christian community seeking new, uncharted ways of faithfulness and service while continuing to embrace our rich traditions. It is Christ whose life and ministry form and guide us as we seek to live the good news, proclaiming God’s grace and extending God’s radical hospitality to all. Lenten Season
Ash Wednesday is on February 22. Once again we will have a simple dinner that will include communion and the singing of Taizé songs. This year the rest of our Lenten Academy every Wednesday evening during Lent at 7:00 p.m. will be a book discussion. The only exception will be the last Wednesday before Holy Week (March 28) where we will have a full Taizé service and communion. The book we will discuss this year is called “Saving Jesus From the Church: How to Stop Worshiping Christ and Start Following Jesus.” It is by Robin R. Meyers, a Congregational pastor in Oklahoma City.

Hard Questions with Thoughtful Responses:
spacer Many people, both members of Newport and visitors to our website, have questions they would like a pastor to address.  Jim enjoys that that kind of dialogue.  So, he will attempt to make a thoughtful response to one or two questions a month and post them on this new link.  If you would like to ask a question, please email him at jimpatten@newportpres.org  He will choose from the questions he receives.  A link is under the Worship menu, or click here.
