Slave Museum might be heading for Shockoe Bottom

spacer
There is a video from CBS6 on the story but unfortunately it doesn’t allow me to embed it on this post, so go here to view it.

The United States National Slavery museum in Richmond is a project 10 years in the making.

Pictures of the future museum were shown to CBS 6 today. The museum is slated to be built at 15th and Main streets in Shockoe Bottom.

Organizers call the overall area a Heritage center.

Over time, the old Seaboard building behind Main Street Station will be part of a Genealogy center filled with artifacts and a plethora of information.

As might have guessed the only hold up is of course money. In this case approximately $100 million. A community meeting will be held Saturday from 10 a.m. to noon at the Franklin Military Academy at 701 N. 37th Street to discuss the possible museum.

C’est Le Vin review by a Misplaced Texan

The blog Misplaced Texan….In Virginia has a fairly lengthy look at C’est Le Vin’s new menu. I’ll just give you the wrap up, hit the link to find out why she feels this way and to see the tasty morsels sampled.

Everything was great, y’all. I can’t think of a better way to gab over a bottle of wine. And you know there are just certain foods and certain places that SCREAM a bottle of wine. C’est Le Vin is this place. Tapas are perfect for a bottle of wine. So is Shockoe. What a conversational piece in itself.

Check them out.
