Cheers to you, and your family on Xmas 2011! The one day of the year recognized by almost every American, regardless of religion is finally here. Rejoice in the empty roads, gift exchanging, and the joy that is Christmas. With 2011 almost entirely behind us, Christmas is a great time to begin to look forward to 2012. What are you doing on Xmas 2011? Are you watching “A Christmas Story” over and over again, or preparing a Green bean casserole for family? So much of Christmas seems to revolve around the food, doesn’t it?
Many people are perfecting their prime rib recipe, or standing rib roast to go along with grandma’s sweet potato casserole. After a long night of watching the Santa Norad Tracker, the little ones care much less about your ham recipes than the new toys they got as gifts under the xmas tree this year. With the yule log on tv, and wrapping paper barely off the new toys, Xmas 2011 is a great day for most. But what about those who aren’t with family on Christmas this year?

Xmas 2011 sales have already proven that this Christmas will be a profitable one for many major retailers, while making kids everywhere a bit happier than the recent, recession holiday’s of the past couple years. It is simply more of the same however – with Video Games and Consoles leading the way in Boy Gifts, and Dolls coming as gifts for many girls. Jewelry for mom, and electronics or tools for dad always do the trick.

When is Black Friday?
Black Friday is Friday November 25, 2011 this year. Traditionally, Black Friday, the official shopping Holiday always falls on the Friday following Thanksgiving. With many Americans off work for a long weekend despite it not being an official Federal Holiday, Black Friday became the obvious option date to kick off the Holiday Sales season, and increase sales prior to year end reports. The term “Black Friday” pre-dates 1966, but came to popularity after it was used in Philadelphia to describe the retail and street traffic on the Friday following Thanksgiving in 1975.
