About

Sunset in the Rearview is a music blog started in December 2008 that features mainly indie-rock and hip-hop. We also specialize in mashups and wobbly dubstep. Some days, though, all we want is some softer folk music. No matter what the genre, we’ll provide you with new music every day and typically some fun reading to go along with it.

Follow on Twitter and Facebook.

Sunset was founded by Lydia Simmons in 2008. It started simply as a way to share great music, but has evolved into a collection of new music, reviews, interviews, news, and more. It’s different from the thousands of other music blogs in that it’s not racing to post the newest music first; we serve as a bit of a filter. We give the music a good listen before posting it, making sure that we can say something worth your time reading when we do end up posting it.

There are seven main features on this blog: New Music Daily, Reviews, Daily Specials, Artists’ Choices and Voices, 100Bands, Lists & Rankings, and News & Humor. Within these categories, you can navigate the subcategories by clicking the different buttons at the top of the page.

Feel free to contact us with comments, suggestions, concerns, opportunities, or the like.

Lydia Simmons- Founder, Editor, Writer - Sunset in the Rearview

spacer Hello everybody, Lydia here. I initially started this music blog back in December of 2008 as a form of procrastination. I didn’t want to write a paper that was due the next day, so I figured I’d start a blog. Brilliant, huh?

Things I’m obsessed with, beyond, of course, music: issues surrounding human rights, the NBA, college football, optimism, my family, food, my cat, Twitter, concerts…I could probably keep going, but I’ll stop. I smile a lot. I lived in Kenya for 4 months, and those were arguably the best 4 months of my life. I have a day job at a social media software company, and I love it.

I love getting feedback from readers, so feel free to contact me on any of my contact outlets. If you have any questions or concerns about the blog or want to collaborate, please email me.

How To Download Songs

If the song says MP3 next to it, simply right click on the link (the song title) and "save linked file," "save link as," "download linked file" or the like. It will then download to your computer.

If the song is in a Soundcloud player like the one seen below, click on the downward-pointing arrow on the right hand side of the player.

If there is a link that says Download, click on that link and it will take you to an external site such as MediaFire or Hulkshare to download the song.
