SPRINGFIELD, Va. - Fairfax County police say they have charged a man with pointing a laser and flashlight at a police helicopter.

Police said Tuesday that helicopter crew members were searching for a suspect in an unrelated case early on Feb. 12, when a green laser and white light blocked their vision of the ground and their equipment.

Officers located the Springfield house where the lights were coming from and eventually arrested 47-year-old Raymond Jeffrey Poli on March 4. Poli was charged with interfering with the operation of an aircraft and endangering life as well as obstruction of justice.
