About
About Dannette:
Diagnosed with Fibromyalgia in 1997, I have been learning to live well with it ever since. In 2008 I founded FibroHaven Support Foundation, creating a community of compassion, understanding, and healing for those learning to live well with chronic illness. Inspired by my advocacy with FibroHaven, I now work as a Life Coach, empowering others with chronic illness to live rich, fulfilling lives in spite of their illness. In 2009 I was introduced to the practices of Gentle and Restorative Yoga – nourishing and awakening my mind, body, and spirit – and a new passion was born. In the spring of 2011 I received a 200hr yoga teacher certification from Light and Love Yoga School and will soon graduate as a 500hr certified instructor.
Dannette’s Philosophy for FibroHaven:
I have adopted a holistic approach to wellness, which means I am learning to address all parts of myself, not just the physical symptoms that manifest into what is called fibromyalgia.
I believe strongly in the mind-body connection and look at my body as a whole – physical, emotional, mental, and spiritual – and believe that to grow and improve in one area, I need to be mindful of all areas.
It is a process, and I still have much to learn. FibroHaven is an exploration of my learning process. Here I share the good, the bad, the joyful, and the unmanageable – with a strong emphasis on the Good and the Joyful!
I encourage you to share as well. There is nothing I can do alone that isn’t infinitely improved with the camaraderie and support of community. My hope is for FibroHaven to be a nurturing place of caring and sharing, a place where you can learn and grow, a place where you will be inspired to begin your own journey to wellness.

Hi I was just diagnosed with Fibromyalgia after years of pain, being off balance, foggy thinking and a host of other problems, I was actually happy when the dr. said I had fibro, only because I was starting to think all this was in my head! I would love to learn more and find a support group in my area, I live in Southern California, Riverside county. Do you have any support groups in that area?
