Pet Project 365

spacer Have you ever looked at your pets and thought “The time goes by so fast.. I want to remember them just like they are… forever.”?   I think we all have.  It makes me a little sad to think about how fast my time with Lu and Wally has gone by already. It’s also getting increasingly difficult to remember what has happened when. So I decided to start a “365 Project” for myself to document Lu and Wally throughout the year.  I’m teaming up with Jodi at Kol’s Notes to start a group 365 project which we’re calling Pet Project 365.  We hope you’ll decide to join us for a wonderful year of memories!

What is Pet Project 365?

Pet Project 365 is a way of capturing your pet’s life in photos by taking at least one photograph each day for an entire year.  (Technically, you’re only supposed to post one photo per day, but I’m going to be a rebel and post as many as I please. ;) )   You don’t need to caption the photos unless you want to.  You don’t need to write a story.  It’s simply a visual journal of a year in the life of your pet.

I don’t think I can do it EVERY day…

What about every week?  For those of you who can’t commit to taking a photo every day, you can sign on for Pet Project 52 – which equals just one photo per week for a year!   Every Friday, we will be having a Pet Project “Weekly Snapshot” blog hop to share your favorite memory from the past week.

But I’m not a photographer!

Don’t worry, you don’t need a fancy camera or a special setup to participate in Pet Project 365 or Pet Project 52.  This is about capturing real life – not about posing or composition or the quality of your photos.  The goal is to capture a little piece of what’s going on in your pet’s life just as it happens that day.

How do I start?

You can set up a free Pet Project online at 365project.org or you can use an existing blog to document your photos. You can also create a free blog at a site like wordpress.com or blogger.com for your project.  You could even just set up a pinboard on Pinterest.com for the project!

Ok, I’m in.  When can I start?

Today is as good a day as any! It’s really never too late to start your own Pet Project.  All you have to do is commit to taking a photo every day (or every week).  If you miss a one, that’s ok!   Nobody’s keeping score.  Just start fresh the next day.  :)

Once you’ve posted the first photo to your Pet Project, feel free to add your link to the list below so we can all follow you along throughout your year!

Have you already started a Pet Project for your pets? Feel free to link it up below!

Why not start today?  You’ll never regret doing it, but someday you may regret NOT doing it.. I know that when I’m old and gray, I will be happy to be able to look back on all the days that we shared together and smile.
