Texas, USA
By Lainybelle · Comments (4)I just got hold of my first ever postcard from Postcrossing! There was a heavy downpour one afternoon and I found the card lying so wet in our terrace.
Oh my! I tried to dry up the card real quick. I was glad to have saved it
The card traveled from Texas, USA approximately 13,118 km (8,151 miles). The sender chose the artistic postcards painted by the famous Susan Seddon Boulet. Susan was born in Brazil but got her training as an artist in the US.
Susan Boulet’s art has had a profound influence on many people. She was a prolific artist whose themes ranged from portrayals of medieval figures and fantasy characters in her early work to goddesses and shaman figures in more recent images. Working principally in oil pastel, inks and occasionally pencil, she developed a distinctive personal style characterized by the use of color applied in layers from which dream-like forms emerged. Susan Boulet drew her inspiration from a wide variety of sources: mythology and poetry, Jungian psychology and worldwide spiritual traditions, as well as a deep love of animals and the natural world. Underlying her work is a spiritual quality and a universality which strikes a chord in people from many walks of life. Her paintings have been widely reproduced and are held in collections around the world. Published works include Shaman: The Paintings of Susan Seddon Boulet (1989), and The Goddess Paintings (1994), both published by Pomegranate Artbooks in Rohnert Park.
The inspiration that people drew from Susan Boulet’s work was often heightened by their meeting her in person. She loved to be present when her paintings were shown and those who met her, however briefly, were invariably touched by her empathy, gentleness, modesty and charm. Her ability to listen and make personal connections won her innumerable admirers. Indeed, one of her greatest challenges was to balance her artist’s need for solitude with her love of friends. At a recent gathering in her honor a large number of people paid tribute to her generosity, sense of humor and the profound influence her art had exerted upon their lives. Susan Seddon Boulet was married to Larry Boulet who died in 1980. She is survived by a son, Eric, and a brother, Patrick Seddon, of Oakland, California, and her step-mother, Naide Seddon, and a brother, Ernani Seddon, of Sao Paulo, Brazil. Here’s an informative message along side the card:

That’s what I’ve actually felt when I received this postcard from my real life long time pal of 21 years and counting, Twerlyn. I actually made a post out of our Friendship All Through These Years.
Scenes from Southern California: The famous Hollywood sign, MacArthur Park, and Venice Beach.
Isn’t that lovely? I felt like I am a Hollywood star! Hahahaha!
That’s not all, folks! Her terse but sweet message definitely plastered a smile on my face.
From Twerlyn to me
I miss her heaps, too! It’s been three years since we last saw each other. I am not sure when are we going to cross paths yet again but what matters the most is that our friendship is kept intact despite the distance

By Lainybelle · Comments (16)I can’t help but smile when I received in my mailbox two weeks ago my very first greeting postcard. The nice card was from Pretty Hazel’s beautiful town.
I felt like I have been there too!
More than receiving the card, what I truly appreciate the most was the nice personalized message that was attached to it:
From Hazel To Me
I haven’t only had a glimpse of Hazel’s beautiful town but of her neat penmanship as well!
Isn’t it great?
Post-A-Postcard #1
By Lainybelle · Comments (4)I am publishing my first set of recipients from Postcrossing. As usual, they were randomly chosen.
Taraaaaaaaaaan!
Two both came from the US and one from Japan! I shall be mailing the cards first thing in the morning tomorrow. The plan of sending cards from Gensan shall be put on hold for the meantime. I shall be asking someone to do it for me. It’s hard to find a real good one at the bookstores.
For the meantime, the three (3) recipients at Postcrossing shall be receiving these:
Camalig Albay: Whizzing sound can be heard inside the cave. It's here where the cave got its name. (The recipient especially asked with a fire in the postcard)
Alaminos Laguna: Lies at the foot of Mt. Makiling. A resort where nature is at its best!
Agusan River, Agusan Del Sur: It shows the adaptability of Filipinos to his surroundings.
Welcome Aboard!

Hey folks!
Welcome aboard my sixth blog Post-a-Postcard
Inspired by fellow postcard enthusiasts, I was motivated to establish this blog for the sole purpose of documenting the postcards sent and received across the world. I have to once more thank Windy for doing the job in 24 hours
It may be a taxing hobby but the joy and excitement outweighs the negatives thus the birth of this blog.
I have yet to get hold of the first postcard sent my way courtesy of Mel Cole. I sure will be getting my hands full in the coming days sending out the first batch of recipients.
I hope I could get some really nice collections of Faces and Places from my very own hometown- GenSan. It’s popularly known to be the Wellspring of Winners or shortly known as WOW.
You can expect this blog to be updated more about postcards from all over the world.
Do enjoy your stay!
