Beyonce to work on two new projects this year

Written by: Michal | Posted on: Feb 13, 2012 | Filed under: News

The singer-songwriter Ryan Tedder admitted that he will be involved with the Beyonce’s fifth studio album.

Speaking at the Grammy Awards last night, Tedder is quoted by HitFix as saying: “You feed her the best that you have. She’s just a phenomenal filter… she can identify what the next thing is.”

He added: “[Beyoncé has] two projects happening this year. You just let her go.”

Tedder also confirmed that the new album will most certainly reflect on the birth of Beyonce’s first child Blue Ivy.

Beyonce Remembers Whitney Houston

Written by: Michal | Posted on: Feb 13, 2012 | Filed under: News

Beyoncé posted this statement about Whitney Houston on her official website:

“The loss of Whitney Houston is painful. I remember meeting Whitney for the first time when I was 15. She was the ultimate legend. The ultimate woman. Not only was she confident, poised, stunningly beautiful and intelligent, but she was sincere and kind. She took the time to make everyone feel like they were very important to her. I, like every singer, always wanted to be just like her. Her voice was perfect. Strong but soothing. Soulful and classic. Her vibrato, her cadence, her control. So many of my life’s memories are attached to a Whitney Houston song. She is our queen and she opened doors and provided a blueprint for all of us.

God bless her.”

Beyoncé’s L’Oreal ad inspires black community backlash

Written by: Michal | Posted on: Feb 12, 2012 | Filed under: Uncategorized

Another article regarding Beyoncé’s skin tone in a L’Oreal commercial. I’m only informing you about this, if you don’t wanna read this, just skip it.

Beyoncé Knowles is featured in a new L’Oreal commercial for a foundation system called True Match. In the advertisement, Knowles states, “There’s a story behind my skin. It’s a mosaic of all the faces before it. My only make-up? True Match.”

Knowles’ heritage is described in the ad as “African-American, Native American” and “French” as these words dissolve onto the screen, describing the “mosaic” that composes Beyoncé’s skin tone. The selling point of the range is that its pigments provide coverage based on the unique undertones of one’s dermis, which might logically necessitate a detailed description of the star’s ancestry.

Yet by contrast, Jennifer Lopez’s True Match commercial describes the Latina talent as “100% Puerto Rican.” Beyoncé’s depiction as multiracial in this context has led to criticism.

Popular gossip bloggers have led discussions about the perception that Beyonce’s True Match commercial intentionally attempts to highlight her non-black heritage in order to distance the star from African-Americans. After L’Oreal suffered from an international backlash for lightening Beyoncé’s skin in a 2008 print campaign, underscoring her non-African background in this advertisement is seen as another disavowal of the singer’s black roots.

Beyoncé and her skin hue have remained controversial since that 2008 debacle. At last year’s Grammy Awards, star watchers noted that she appeared to be lighter than normal, prompting rumors that Beyoncé had bleached her skin. In addition, the promotional materials for her latest album, 4, depict the pop mogul in high-contrast shots that many believe make her look white.

Tina Knowles talks about Blue Ivy

Written by: Michal | Posted on: Feb 10, 2012 | Filed under: News

Beyoncé’s mother Tina Knowles opened up to People about her new(est) role of being a Grandma to two beautiful grand-babies.

“She’s doing great, she’s beautiful. [Being a Grandma is] amazing,” adding, “It’s the second best job I’ve ever had.” It was that moment where Tina was obviously referring to being a mother herself to her two successful and much adored daughters.

Not only that, but baby Blue must be a perfect mix of Jay and Bey, because Blue’s physical favors are still taking shape. When asked who she looks most like, Tina responded, “She’s only a month old. So we have to give her a minute.”

Simon Cowell Squashes Beyonce ‘X Factor’ Rumors

Written by: Michal | Posted on: Feb 09, 2012 | Filed under: News

I informed you about this rumour several days ago, but here’s an official statement from Simon Cowell:

Simon Cowell is finally opening up about the cast shakeups on “The X Factor” as well as about rumors that two very famous divas are in talks to join Fox’s reality singing competition.

Late last month, it was announced that judges Paula Abdul and Nicole Scherzinger and host Steve Jones had been fired from “X Factor” and would be replaced in its second season. The announcement came as a shock to fans, but Cowell tells “Extra” in an interview airing Wednesday ( February 8 ) that the decision was a long time coming and was ultimately made “at the beginning of the year — and we were told it had to happen straight away.”

Cowell also used his time with “Extra” to squash rumors that Beyoncé or Mariah Carey might be joining the “X Factor” team when it returns to Fox later this year. He seemed particularly amused by talk that the show was offering Beyoncé a nine-figure contract to join the judges’ table.

“The budget for the show is $100 million. That would never ever happen.

It’s absolute nonsense,” he told “Extra.” “No one is going to pay $100 million for someone. I genuinely haven’t had a conversation with her about it. Not at all.”

Beyonce & Jay-Z Applied to Trademark Blue Ivy’s Name

Written by: Michal | Posted on: Feb 09, 2012 | Filed under: Uncategorized

Beyonce Knowles and Jay-Z have made a move to patent their daughter’s name, Blue Ivy Carter. According to the Washington Post, the “Countdown” singer and her rapper husband filed an application with the U.S. Patent and Trademark Office to protect the name for possible use in marketing a future line of baby products.

The powerhouse couple submitted their application on January 26 after a couple of attempts from several third parties to use the name. Fashion designer Joseph Mbeh tried to trademark “Blue Ivy Carter NYC” on January 11, while another applicant filed for “Blue Ivy Carter Glory IV” to sell a line of fragrances on January 20.

The filing made by Mbeh and the other applicant have been denied though. On the reasons why, the trademark office explained that Blue Ivy belonged to a “very famous infant”, and that products bearing the name could give wrong impression to the customers that they are approved by Queen Bey and Jigga.

While Mbeh and the other applicant have failed in their attempts, a boutique in Sturgeon Bay, Wisconsin has managed to trademark “Blue Ivy” even before Queen Bey’s baby was born. The clothing store made the request back on January 19, 2011 and received approval on August 23 the same year.

Queen Bey and Jigga filed their trademark application through the “Love on Top” singer’s company, BGK Trademark Holdings. It is believed that the couple will be granted the request because parents have the authorization to trademark their children’s names when they are minors.
