Right, so here we are well into our new adventure waiting for the arrival of the lil’ fella. In case you missed it we are indeed having a boy. Just thought I’d throw that in there to see who’s paying attention and reading my updates. At least I have the heir to my empire sorted and the Murphy dynasty can continue uninterrupted, not that the name had any chance of dying off. Here’s a fun fact: there were three Murphy families on my street growing up with none of us being related. Pretty sure our name will escape extinction for the time being.

Hopefully you’ve been following my inner thoughts that I’ve been jotting down over the past while so you know where we’re at with the baby. There are so many topics of conversation popping up at the minute covering any and all aspects of the little fella’s arrival all of which need my undivided attention, and to be honest are probably getting a fraction of what’s needed, that sometimes I feel like a bobble head. The latest is….. the baby shower.

As y’all may know I’m preggers and though my cravings have been mild and mostly healthy, I do find my chocolate cravings growing stronger along with the desire to bake, the latter of which I’ve never been that interested in. Funny what happens in pregnancy. Luckily I’ve had this easy recipe in my back pocket [...]

So & So Murphy

Here’s an interesting one. As a parent, or in my case an about-to-be parent, you now have the pressure-filled task of coming up with a name for your child that he or she will have for eeeeever unless of course you screw it up so bad they change it. So actually the only pressure is [...]

When people ask me how to know what’s in season I always tell them the best way to know for sure is to go to your local farmers market and see what the farmers are selling. Eating seasonally for me means eating what’s in season in my region. Here’s a general over view of what’s [...]

Superbowl Sunday’s coming up so a day of copious amounts of food and drink is probably on the cards. I’d imagine the last place you want to be during the game is actually in the kitchen cooking so here’s your meal ticket. You can’t beat the one pot meal. This’ll definitely do the trick. If [...]

Hey guys, I came across this article during my early morning perusal of the social media mecca, Facebook. I can’t remember where I got it from but I figured I’d pass it along. I think one of the hardest things for people to grasp when buying food is trying to figure out what the hell [...]

Being Irish we have many classic dishes that are exclusive to my homeland. Beef & Guinness stew, bacon & cabbage, soda bread…I could go on. Every nation and region, for that matter have food that’s indigenous to that area. The other night I thought I’d surprise my good lady with something, a bite to eat [...]

What’s the difference between a frittata and a tortilla? They both look the same, right? Well, an Italian frittata is like an omelet and has to have eggs as well as whatever veggies, herbs, etc you like and you typically make it in a pan and finish it in the oven in the same pan. [...]
