About

I chose the title “The Male Feminist” on purpose to combine two things that society says should not belong together.

TMF does focus on masculinity and manhood.

TMF does show how embracing what society teaches us is “feminine” actually creates a happier, more well-rounded individual.

TMF does tell the life stories of a privileged anti-sexist male.

TMF does not think women can’t speak for themselves.

TMF does not encourage people who want to learn about feminism to learn about it from men.

TMF does not think feminism should worry about men.

TMF is about my life as a 25-year old U.S. Marine who has been taught from a very early age that women are less than men, socialized into a role that taught me that I was superior, and reinforced into a position that led me to believe women were weaker and less capable. As an infantryman and son of a sexist bigot I think I have a unique perspective of the inner workings of the “masculinity machine” that turns otherwise capable human beings into narcissistic, close-minded people trapped in chains of their own making.
