2 Jul 2010We got a new grocery store! I usually do my shopping between Trader Joes, Target and sometimes Whole Foods. I am trying very hard to feed my family only whole foods and use as many natural products as possible. Which is difficult because, first we are family of 6, second Trader Joes is limited, and third Whole Foods is also limited and REALLY expensive? This is where my life gets much easier…meet Sprouts! I like to think of Sprouts as the love child of Traders and WFs, the beauty of WFs with the good sense of Traders. Sprouts is not limited and it’s not expensive. So far it’s had great sales, has a vast produce department and lots of lots of bulk bins full of everything you can think of and would have no idea existed but would think of it if you did

19 Nov 2009A few weeks back while perusing my bloglines I came across a really good idea on dooce.com. Being a dog owner means with all the love and companionship sometimes you have to deal with a little stink. Especially when it comes to dog beds…I love our sweet Pep, but goodness help her she stinks and has gotten stinkier with age. I wash her bed weekly and while the cover comes out smelling pretty good the insides hold on to the not so nice smells so it’s stinky again in no time. Then I found myself reading about dooce’s experiences with the Molly Mutt diy dog bed kit…what a great idea!!! So the idea is Molly Mutt sells these beautiful, classy duvets (I know I know duvet for a dog..but keep reading) in 3 different sizes, circles and rectangles. They are pretty and easy to wash-big plus. So what does one do with a duvet for a dog…ahh here’s the genius…fill it with all your old blankets, clothes, what ever washable clutter you’ve got laying around. Molly Mutt even sells mesh bags to neatly shove all these random things in before over it all with your duvet. It can’t get easier, washable cover +washable insides = not stinky/ugly dog bed!

2 Nov 2009A while back my hair dryer died…nothing new. I don’t usually spend more then 30 bucks on hair dryers which is probably why I have to replace them so often. I think I may be on a different road with this one. I’ve had the Hot Tools Helix for almost a year and it’s just as wonderful as it was brand new. It’s also got this nifty thing called NanoSilver…I’ll leave the science out and tell you whatever it is-it works. My hair is thin and flat, it gets damaged very easily. Not only does the Hot Tools Helix dry my hair fast, it’s left soft and smooth. Oh and don’t get me started on the body, so much body! Great great great hair dryer…and right now it’s on sale!

1 Nov 2009Like most parents I’m always on the lookout for healthy things for my family and convenient things for me. Quaker Oatmeal Pancake Mix is a wondrous combination of both! With a short list of ingredients and lovely 4 grams of fiber it is a busy person’s healthy breakfast dream. Only 4 grams of sugar per serving yet my kids gobble the pancakes like they’re made of chocolate. A couple of easy add ins and your set for quick, great tasting healthy pancakes. My new favorite go to breakfast and the 32oz box you find in your local grocery store goes a long way…or you can check it out here (save a trip to the store!)
