You may know that on the weekend of February 18th we were temporarily unable to access Twitter's API via several UberMedia apps. We were happy to announce the resumption of service to Twidroyd and UberSocial for BlackBerry (previously known as ÜberTwitter). UberSocial for iPhone and UberCurrent are still under review, and we will post updates at the UberMedia blog when they are available for download at the iTunes App Store.
One of the issues identified by Twitter was the potential for unintended or unauthorized users to view the contents of extended-length tweets, and linked photos sent in DMs or from protected accounts via the websites that host that additional content. In order to address this concern, we have removed the capability that previously enabled users to tweet more than 140 characters, photos, and videos. We have brought this feature back for non-protected accounts, however it will remain disabled for tweeters with protected accounts. We have also removed 140 character + integration from our apps’ DM features. We are sorry for any inconvenience this may cause our users.
In short, if you have a non-protected account there are two possible solutions to re-register yourself as an unprotected user and return to usage of the above features:
1. Go to the "..." button in Twidroyd, Click "Accounts", tap your account, and press Save.
2. Try uninstalling and then re-installing
