Scott's Pizza Journal: Pizza Slice Tracking Technology

scottspizzatours:

Here’s a chart of last week’s pizza intake. Looks like I overshot my limit of 15 slices.

Sometime last year I started keeping track of how much pizza I was eating. It’s not part of a crazy cleansing diet or anything but I figured it might make sense to limit my intake so I don’t risk…

When I’m mastering a Jeff Rubin Jeff Rubin Show, I’ll often take to my Twitter/Facebook page and give people 30 minutes to email JeffRubinJeffRubinShow@gmail.com for an advance copy of that week’s episode. It gives me an opportunity to solicit feedback and beta test the always futzy enhanced version of the show. This week, I’m posting about it on Tumblr too. Let’s see how it goes - in your email let me know if this blog post is how you you found out.

You have until 1:30 EST - otherwise you’re going to have to wait all the way to Tuesday to hear over an hour of Streeter and I discussing Downton Abbey and other BBC favorites. There’s no lottery or chance here - get your email in the next 30 minutes and I will definitely write you back.

This week on The Jeff Rubin Jeff Rubin Show my guest is Francesco Marciuliano, the writer behind the widely syndicated comic strip Sally Forth. I don’t remember a time in my life where I didn’t love comic strips, and I took this opportunity to ask everything I ever wanted to know about the funny pages. We discuss how Francesco took over the Sally Forth, how he made it it’s own, what makes Peanuts great, Calvin & Hobbes vs. The Far Side, and also I complain about the newest Muppet movie.

You can listen to the triumphant return of the enhanced version of The Jeff Rubin Jeff Rubin Show (with pictures) on YouTube or iTunes, and the vanilla MP3 version at JeffRubinJeffRubinShow.com.

Upcoming episodes!
2/21 - Streeter Seidell and I talk Downton Abbey
2/28 - Owen Parsons and I report from ToyFair

Was skimming Saved by the Bell for a remix we’re working on, and I know this isn’t earth shattering news, but jesus christ look at what they made Screech wear. I wasn’t going out of my way to find ridiculous Screech outfits, this just happens to be what he’s wearing in this episode.

“There is no word for ‘book’ in Dothraki. The reason is culturally dependent. It’s mentioned specifically in [Game of Thrones] that the Dothraki have no written form for their language… If you coin a word and say, ‘This is the Dothraki word for book,’ it implies that the Dothraki have some sort of printing process and regular interaction with books. It implies they have some form of writing, that they have invented paper, that there’s scholarship, and that there’s publishing. It brings along all this cultural baggage… so you have to keep all of that in mind when coining words for a language.”

- David Peterson, creator of the Dothraki language from Game of Thrones and guest on this week’s Jeff Rubin Jeff Rubin Show

This episode is certified spoiler free, and can be enjoyed even if you’re completely unfamiliar with the Game of Thrones franchise.

It is also one of my favorite Jeff Rubin Jeff Rubin Shows yet. David is my ideal guest - a really intelligent person who took their nerdy passion to unprecedented depths and is now harnessing it to create something amazing. Even if you never conciously registered that the Dothraki speak a working language, it’s that attention to detail that adds up to make Game of Thrones one of the most immersive shows on TV.

If you enjoy this episode, I would love it if you told your friends about it with a reblog, leaving a review on iTunes, or shouting in their ear as loud as you possibly can.

As always, The Jeff Rubin Jeff Rubin Show comes out Tuesdays and is available on YouTube, iTunes, and JeffRubinJeffRubinShow.com.

Arcade Daze

A classic novelty song about heading to the arcade for hot gaming action.

Gairdner did it again!

I had the honor of directing the video for “Arcade Daze”, the hilarious new novelty song by Tyrus Smackey and the Scoot-Bootin’ Bunch. These goofy songsmiths have a very funny future ahead!
