“Jessica Drinking to Destruction,” reads the headline of a Star magazine story about Jessica Simpson that goes on to say she’s “trapped in a poisonous cycle of booze binges.” Basically, the tab takes a January 24 incident – when Simpson was overserved at the L.A. restaurant Katsuya – and uses it to claim, “Jessica is drinking way too much… and the worst thing is, she doesn’t see anything wrong with it.” According to Star, “As her multimillion-dollar fashion lines have taken off, Jessica’s workload has increased – and with it, her drinking.” The mag writes, “Mimosas at breakfast are often followed by margaritas at lunch and a bottle of wine at dinner.” “Jessica’s binges have her family and friends so worried,” says Star, that they’re currently “brainstorming about how to get her the help she needs.” Really? Not exactly. Yes, it’s true Simpson was tipsy on January 24, a day in which celebrated an earlier photoshoot with drinks at Katsuya. However, taking that one incident to assert she’s “drinking to destruction” and “trapped in a poisonous cycle” is a GIANT exaggeration. A source close to Simpson tells Gossip Cop that it’s “completely untrue” she drinks all day and goes on “binges” which have her family and friends “worried.” “She had a few drinks that night – after a long day – but everything else,” assures our insider, “is totally overblown.”
Star, of course, is the same tabloid that reported Simpson was writing a $5 million tell-all about John Mayer, Nick Lachey and Tony Romo; that she got “touchy-feely” with Tiger Woods; and that she was dating “Friday Night Lights” star Taylor Kitsch, who she had never even met. Actually, the real question should be what are they drinking in the Star magazine offices?

A fitness video featuring Jessica Simpson is set to go public, despite the pop star’s efforts to keep it off shelves. The singer fronted the project for exercise company Speedfit, but she didn’t like the finished result and filed legal papers to keep the DVD from being sold. But now a Hollywood producer has bought the rights to the video – and he’s challenging Simpson and her handlers to stop him from making it public. In a defiant letter to Simpson’s lawyers, obtained by WENN, the new owner, Ed Meyer, writes, “After much due diligence, I have purchased rights to distribute the as yet unreleased Jessica Simpson Exercise Video from Speedfit. “While your client Jessica Simpson believes that she has a valid New York court order preventing such a contract, she actually does not.” Meyer insists his contract with Speedfit is “valid”, and he has threatened Simpson with legal action if she insists on moving forward with “any tortuous interference or restraint of trade”. The producer plans to re-edit the fitness film, which was shot in 2005, and release it. Simpson won an arbitration ruling to keep the exercise video from being distributed – a huge hurdle for Meyer. She also won a ruling barring Speedfit from using her name and likeness to promote the video.

A rumor picking up steam claims Jessica Simpson will be named as one of the judges on the American version of “X Factor.”
According to multiple reports, the singer is a “strong option” for the show, with one site printing a rumor that she’s “currently in contract negotiations” for the talent competition series, for which Simon Cowell left “American Idol.”
But do not expect to see Simpson on the panel.
“Just to clear up a rumor… I am NOT going to judge X Factor!!!” tweets Simpson. “I don’t even know where that info came from.”

The reality TV star and actress hit the town following days of a detoxing cleanse — and the booze went straight to her head! “She had just finished a cleanse and this was the first meal she had eaten in days,” a source told New York Post gossip column Page Six. Jessica chowed down fried rock shrimp, creamy crab rolls, spicy tuna and crispy rice. Simpson was led out on fiance Eric Johnson’s arm and sat in their car’s passenger seat with her eyes half-closed.
Recent reports claimed Jessica is taking vegan cooking classes to impress her future husband. “Jessica is determined to be more of a domestic goddess this time in regards to her marriage,” a source said. “She hardly ever prepared meals when she and ex-hubby Nick Lachey were together.”

Jessica Simpson recently left an extra 60 percent on a $500 restaurant bill after dining with her mother, assistant and two other friends at New York Italian restaurant Lavo. As well as leaving a $300 tip for the $500 bill, she also left a positive message to her waitress, telling her “You were amazing and make this world a better place, Love Jess.” Jessica had told her waitress she’d had a hard day at work and ordered Macallan 18-year-old single-malt Scotch whisky, which she drank with ice and paired with an unusual dish of fried Oreo cookies as well as a veal parmigiano. Jessica, 30, has been in great spirits since announcing her engagement to Eric Johnson in November, and she recently admitted she was left speechless and in tears when Eric popped the question. I just sat there and cried with him.” Jessica was previously married to singer Nick Lachey from 2002 until 2006.
