Laura O'Shaughnessy - Chief Executive Officer

Laura is the CEO of SocialCode.  Previously she ran Business Development and Product Strategy for the Slate Group doing deals with partners, overseeing product and project management and growing revenue streams across the sites.  Before coming to the Washington Post Company she worked at technology companies in Washington DC doing a wide variety of jobs including: overseeing very large SEM campaigns, conducting business strategy to identify consumer website targets for transactions and managing acquisition campaigns for clients at a performance marketing company. Laura holds an MBA from the Sloan School of Management and a B.A. in Economics from the University of Chicago.

Erik Brauner - Chief Technology Officer 

Erik joined SocialCode to lead their technology development efforts and is thrilled to be working on the cutting edge technologies surrounding Facebook and the complex optimization problems surrounding ads on this platform.  Erik has over 15 years of experience as a technology leader helping companies architect and build complex software and analytic solutions.  Erik started his career building forecasting and optimization systems for the airline industry, directing the construction of solutions used by USAirways and Iceland Air among others.  After serving as the Head of Biological and Chemical Computing for Harvard's Institute of Chemistry and Cell Biology, he came to DC as a co-founder of the successful data startup Catalist.  During his 5+ years at Catalist, Erik served as Chief Architect and Chief Scientist helping to construct a 20 terabyte data store of information on voters used for voter contact and leading the development of models used by a successful presidential campaign.

Addie Conner - VP, Advertising

Addie joined SocialCode with the goal of helping to build the most advanced Facebook advertising platform and agency in the world.  As VP of Advertising, Addie is focused in achieving success for brands on Facebook through innovative and data-focused Facebook advertising methodology and technology. Prior to SocialCode, Addie was VP of Advertising at Avenue100, another subsidiary within the Washington Post. While at Avenue100, Addie worked on managing ROI focused, multi-million keyword long-tail SEM campaigns, as well as diversifying advertising channels beyond SEM, building both a large affiliate program and Facebook advertising program. Using a quantitative approach to Facebook, Avenue100 became a top advertiser on the platform in under a month, as well as an early partner within the Facebook Ads API beta program. When not working on Facebook advertising, Addie enjoys skiing, supporting local agriculture and general debauchery.

Cary Lawrence - VP, Business Development 

Cary joined SocialCode to help guide business strategy, bring in new business and keep existing clients happy.  She previously worked in the Ad Innovations group at Washington Post Digital.  In Ad Innovations, her focus was on developing breakthrough solutions for partners in the form of custom content, brand integration, audience extension and never been done before executions.  Prior to her tenure at Washington Post Digital, Cary served as a Program Associate at the Aspen Institute in the Communications and Society Program.  The overall goal of the Communications and Society Program is to promote integrated, thoughtful, values-based decision making in the fields of communications, media, and information policy.  She also has roots in the Agency world.  Cary worked at Mullen, a full-service Advertising Agency in Boston, MA specializing in the financial services and telecommunications industries.  Cary holds a Masters of Arts in Communication, Culture, and Technology from Georgetown University and a Bachelor of Science in Business from Wake Forest University.
