About

spacer Built in 1905, the Lyle Hotel has had many lives, from professional offices (housing doctors and dentists), a carpenter’s shop to a boarding house. The building has even been a private residence. Now, The Lyle Hotel has resumed its original purpose in providing comfortable lodging for visitors of the Columbia River Gorge and wonderful dining options to the public.

Upon entering the lobby, you will most likely meet Steve, who along with Marianne, runs the Lyle Hotel. You’ll catch glimpses of the dining room and the bar and often smell wafting aromas from the kitchen beckoning you to dinner.

All ten hotel rooms are located upstairs, each has its own individual personality. Steve and Marianne have tried to fuse modern palettes with turn of the century features. The five European style baths are down the hall and serve all the guest rooms. We are all one big family here.

As you descend downstairs in the morning, Steve will again be there to greet you and offer his freshly baked scones and banana bread along with seasonal fruit, “Lyle Blend” Coffee and assorted tea. Pick up the paper and get comfortable on the couch next to the fireplace as a wall of windows allows you to slowly watch as sunlight pours into the Gorge.

The Lyle Hotel offers:

  • Off-street parking
  • Complimentary wireless internet
  • Flexible breakfast times
  • Central telephone for local calls
  • Pet friendly rooms (for an additional $20 fee)
  • Gift certificates
  • Smoking outside
  • A warm, friendly environment to relax, dine and enjoy the beauty of the Columbia River Gorge

Please note that all bathrooms are shared and there are no TVs in the bedrooms.
