Algonquin Internet Radio – AIR

In February of 2000, the staff of the Radio Broadcasting program at Ottawa’s Algonquin College put together a proposal that would see the college establish an Internet Radio Station.

A year later, with the wholehearted support of the local Ottawa broadcasting community and the college, AIR was launched!

AIR – Algonquin Internet Radio serves to showcase the work of second year radio broadcasting students. AIR is student run and staffed, and plays all your favourites from the 70′s, 80′s, and 90′s!

Through a technique known as voice tracking we are able to have students on the air 24/7, even during classes!

The decision taken to launch AIR puts us on the cutting edge of new media. AIR is an evolving project that allows students to stay at the forefront of their craft.
