Fight the Canadian Privacy Bill (Bill C-30)

by Raj Perumal on February 22, 2012

spacer

So unless you have been living under a rock, you’ve probably heard about the new Canadian Bill C-30. This bill is aimed at protecting the children. An often used excuse to take away the average joe’s rights and freedoms.

What is does is give the powers that be the ability to get certain information about you and what you’re doing online without a warrant. No due process whatsoever. The government is asking us to “trust them” and that they won’t abuse it. Now if you believe that, I think I might have some radioactive land I can sell you for a bargain price. spacer

So what can you do to stop this? Talk to your local political representative and let them know you will not stand for this. What this bill does is effectively make criminals out of all of us and makes the assumption that just because we want our privacy that we’re automatically criminals.

This attitude of Vic Toews and his fellow bill C-30 supporters is completely outrageous. He claims he didn’t know about all the contents of the bill, but I find that hard to believe!

Pre-Order Mass Effect 3 for Bonus Content!

by Raj Perumal on February 21, 2012

    spacer

So as I mentioned in my previous post, you need to get in front of the pre-order for Mass Effect 3. If you pre-order now you can get some pretty cool bonus content.

For one, you will get an M55 Argus Assault Rifle in the game with the pre-order, but depending on where you pre-order you can get extra stuff, like a store credit at Best Buy or Walmart!

If you order from Amazon, you will get a $10 dollar credit in addition the rifle. If you order from Orgin, you could get a free copy of Battlefield 3 but now rumour has it that  EA has brought that promotion to a halt. If you were one of the lucky few to get in on that promotion then that’s great. But I do have to say this – shame on you EA for making this promotion and canning it. If you didn’t want to do it, you shouldn’t have done it in the first place, but now that you have done it, there are a lot of people that were led to believe that they’d get the game but now they’re not. I hope you refund their money or make good on your promise!

BioWare’s Mass Effect 3 Demo released!

by Raj Perumal on February 20, 2012

    spacer

Hi folks, so if you haven’t heard already, the Mass Effect 3 demo has been released! The demo also has full suport for the Microsoft Xbox 360 Kinect!  I’ve spent some time playing it Mass Effect 3 and, hear are my thoughts.

I tried it out as the Vanguard class, as that is my favorite class to play, and I chose the traditional Mass Effect role playing mode to get a good mix of the action and role playing aspects. I have to say that the game has definitely improved for the better. The combat feels sleeker and I think that is completely due to the voice integration with the Kinect.

You can run through the maps killing the bad guys and when you need to activate a power you just say the name of the power out loud. This activates it. No more needing to fumble for buttons. This also works in the dialog sequences. You just say what you want to say and it chooses that option. This is quite slick and I hope to see this introduced in more and more games for the Xbox 360.

The graphics and sound are great and it looks like all your favorite characters are back like Wrex, Liara, and Garrus. I for one can’t wait for the release of Mass Effect 3 and will be pre-ordering my copy asap! If you go and do a pre-order you will unlock bonus in game content. Looks like the good people at BioWare have done it again!

If you haven’t given the demo a try yet, please logon and download it and get to it! The release date for the full game is March 6th, 2012.
