Daniela Ruah

Daniela Ruah is a well-loved actress that is best known for her role as Kensi Blye on the mystery drama show, NCIS: Los Angeles.

Daniela’s background

Daniela was born on December 2nd 1983, and is of American/Portuguese descent. Despite her young age, Daniela is already an accomplished actress with an impressive portfolio.

After spending the early part of her childhood in Boston, Massachusetts, Daniela moved to Portugal where she began her career in acting at just sixteen years old. Playing the character Sara, Daniela got her television debut on one of Portugal’s soap operas, Jardins Proibidos. Daniela continued to act throughout her schooling until she moved to London at eighteen to study Performing Arts. She gained a First from the London Metropolitan University.

Having completed her degree, Daniela went on to follow her passion for acting back in Portugal. Whilst there, she worked on several television shows and had roles in both movies and theatre. Not only did she impress people with her acting skills, her fancy footwork gathered a lot of attention when she won the Portuguese version of Dancing With The Stars.

Daniela’s ability to act perfectly regardless of the country she is working in, is helped largely by the fact that she can speak three languages. As well as English and Portuguese, Daniela can also speak Spanish fluently.

Acting prowess

Ever passionate about acting and eager to learn and hone her skills, Daniela went on to study at the Lee Strasberg Theatre and Film Institute in New York. In 2009, she began playing Kensi Blye in the hit US drama, NCIS: Los Angeles.

As a result of her abundant talent, Daniela received a Portuguese Golden Globe and was nominated at the Teen Choice Awards.
