SHITDISCO
reactor party
Release Date: 23/10/2006
shitdisco come from various parts of the uk - berwick, newcastle and leeds, to name but three - but have been the talk of the art-tastic dayglo-splattered glasgow underground scene for nigh on two years now. 'reactor party' is the bands second ever release following the mightily acclaimed - and indeed frequently played out - 'disco blood' / 'i know kung-fu' double headed 12" release. building on the foundations of that 'disco blood' debut shitdisco have been winning friends far and wide throughout 2006, developing their reputation as diy party mavericks with a mischievous sense of fun and a thoroughly heroic attitude to staying up late. the gigs have taken place in abandoned railway tunnels, boys toilets, squats and supercool stages all the way from white heat to reading festival. on the surface the music has followed a similarly haphazard trajectory but beneath the drunk / punk / funk-fuelled onslaught that characterises their chaotic live shows there lurks an intelligence and a two bass-driven groove which lends itself terrifically to the nations dance floors. luke smith from clor agrees: it was the clor remix of 'disco blood' which originally saw so much nightclub action and he is now in the production seat for the gibbering trancepop hysteria of 'reactor party', as well shitdisco's debut album, currently being recorded in east london. the limited 7" comes backed with the nightmoves mix of 'i know kung-fu'.
