Communication & Journalism
Communication and Journalism at Rider are fast-paced, dynamic, challenging and high-tech just as they are for professionals. Students learn to develop, then polish, their skills in reporting and writing news; in designing graphics, web pages and multimedia projects; in directing and producing radio and television content; in running publicity campaigns, and in interacting and presenting. They take part in small classes and get hands-on experience in digital studios and labs. It's no wonder they produce portfolios and web and multimedia projects that are professional quality.
Students work closely, often one-on-one, with distinguished faculty who have extensive experience in their fields of expertise. Student media organizations, from the award-winning Rider News to the Rider University Network and the radio station, WRRC-FM, give students a chance to try out their profession right on campus.
Dozens of internships each term send students to New York, Philadelphia, and everywhere in between (including here on campus).
We aim to make every student who becomes part of our learning community understand the power of communication and journalism and how to use them to their fullest potential.
