Curriculum & Instruction Strategies

Elementary Education and Secondary Education Degree

- Curriculum and Instruction

Improving your curriculum and teaching strategies is a necessary part of any educator’s career. Keeping the curriculum current can help make students more engaged and the teacher more effective, which is why the University of New England provides a Master’s Degree in Education devoted to this skill development. The Curriculum & Instruction Strategies concentration begins by addressing leadership and showing teachers how to build motivation and creativity among colleagues. It proceeds to demonstrate current models for curriculum design to insure that materials meet appropriate content and learning goals in actual classrooms. This fully online degree is tailored for working professionals who are interested in achieving results in their classroom performance.

Participants will learn how to address the diverse needs, abilities and experiences of their students. This includes teaching and learning methods for all students, including those with special needs.

Assistive technologies will be examined to determine its effectiveness in reaching students in the classroom. As part of this degree program, insight into how these strategies work for peer educators will be gained.

Other topics of study include study skills, connections between reading and writing, instructional strategy, ESL students, students with disabilities, and literacy development.

I have my Initial License and have been teaching in MA in the same district for 7 years. Does this count as being “a professional teacher” and do I qualify for your program?

Tim, your enrollment advisor will help verify which program you qualify for. The MSEd program requires one academic year teaching experience. The CAGS program requires three years teaching experience. For information on Admissions Requirements, please visit: education.une.edu/admission-requirements/

I have completed the masters of Ed and the CAGS program at your university. I am interested in some of the 15 credit certificate programs. Can I enroll for just the 15 credit certificate?
