You have been wait-listed in college, what now? Don’t panic! Stop Worrying too much! That’s not the only college in the whole country that can accept you. Being wait-listed doesn’t mean you can no longer study in college after all.

When you get wait-listed what you must do depends on the situation and on the schools you have applied to. . But in general, the best thing that you should do is to move forward as if you are already rejected. You are just clinging to false hopes to get accepted in that college. Move on and try to consider those colleges who have accepted you.

The schools send you a letter asking you if you will accept a position on the waitlist. If you refuse, then that’s already the end of story, but if you accept it, then you will have to really wait until one of the accepted college applicants will refuse the school’s offer and turn down the slot. But that’s just not the point because even if one or two students turn down their acceptance in the school, still, it is not an assurance that you can already take his or her slot because you see, you also have some other students with you on the waitlist. Competition still goes on after which, so if I were you, you just give up the slot and focus on the college admission process of your next choice of school in which you are accepted.  The norm tends to be in the 10% range, which is why you should really move on with the other options rather than pin your hopes on the waitlist.
