Robert Pattinson Might Be Cannes-Bound With His Latest Movie ‘Cosmopolis’!

Hollywood A-lister Robert Pattinson has his feet firmly planted in the spotlight and could possibly take the Cannes Film Festival by storm (again) with his latest movie ‘Cosmopolis’!

There’s no doubt that Robert Pattinson is way more than a one-dimensional actor. From his roles as vampire Edward Cullen in the Twilight Saga, to playing rag-tag circus vet Jacob Jankowski in Water For Elephants, the 25-year-old heartthrob can play just about anything! This summer he wrapped filming in Canada, playing multi-millionaire Eric Parker in Cosmopolis, and now there’s talk of the movie going to Cannes. Yay!

Director David Cronenberg revealed the film, which follows Rob’s character over the course of 24-hours in Manhattan, is still in post production. He said it could go to Cannes, which will inevitably keep Robat the top of every director’s wish list.

Will Justin Bieber And Robert Pattinson Attend The MuchMusic Awards In Toronto This Weekend?

The MuchMusic Video Awards are this Sunday in Toronto and we’re excited for Selena Gomez to host the show and perform! Justin Bieber was nominated for two categories: Fave Artist and International Video of the Year by a Canadian, for his “Somebody to Love” video featuring Usher. The Biebs has not been confirmed for the awards show yet, but we think there’s a very good chance he will show up and surprise everyone just like he did at the MTV Movie Awards this year. And maybe we’ll get to see Robert Pattinson there as well!

Justin performed last year at the MMVAs and he’s been consistently tweeting at his fans to vote for him, PLUS his girlfriend is hosting the show. We think he’s a sure bet for attending on Sunday, especially since he’ll already be reuniting with Selena in Atlanta.

Meanwhile, Robert Pattinson is filming Cosmopolis in Toronto and could attend the awards since Sunday is his day off from work! How star-studded of a carpet would that be to see Rob, Justin and Selena together? It’d be like the super-fun MTV Movie Awards all over again!

The MuchMusic Video Awards air live on Fuse June 19 at 9PM ET — will you be tuning in? Do you think Justin and Rob will make an appearance?

Did Penn Badgley Beat Our Robert Pattinson For Jeff Buckley Biopic?

Robert Pattinson’s dreams of playing soulful musician Jeff Buckley in a biopic based on the short-lived rocker’s life may have been dashed. According to new reports, “Gossip Girl” star Penn Badgley is at the top of the short list to play the role in the long-simmering film about the rocker.

Penn and Robert aren’t the first dark-haired babes linked to the role. Countless others including, James Franco, have all had their names tossed in the ring, but sources tell Hollywoodlife.com that, “Penn is thrilled to get this role and thinks it’s the film of a lifetime. He’s been trying to push out of the ‘Gossip Girl’ image and knows this film will be the perfect opportunity to do so.”

The source added, unsurprisingly, that Robert isn’t as excited about the news. “Robert Pattinson is devastated he’s lost out on the one role he really wanted. It was down to Rob, James Franco and Penn for the part, and Rob was really pushing himself to get it,” the source said of the “Twilight” star, who’s singing chops were featured on the franchise’s first soundtrack. “So he’s really bummed. He was passionate about this project.”

Right now, nothing is confirmed, and for those wondering if Penn has the signing ability to pull it off, well, it turns out he does. In some online video, Penn is seen sitting at the piano, singing away in a bluesy, Buckley-esque manner.

EW’s First Look at Breaking Dawn

spacer Fans have waited years to see Bella (Kristen Stewart) and Edward (Robert Pattinson) tie the knot, and the wedding scene, scheduled for the end of production on The Twilight Saga: Breaking Dawn, proved to be equally climactic for those involved. “It was one of the coolest things that I’ve done,” says Stewart. “There was a certain point when I walked on set, and I saw everyone from the entire cast sitting there in the pews, about to do their bit. And it was just so perfect for me in that moment. It was so emotional in such a real way. I literally felt like thanking them for coming.”

But filming wasn’t always quite so idyllic. As the stars and director tell EW, Breaking Dawn Part 1 and 2 (in theaters November 18 and November 2012) involved a grueling, globe-trotting shoot, and scenes far darker, bloodier, and more polarizing than any in the franchise so far. If audiences haven’t matured with the Twilight books, they’re about to grow up fast. “We shot everything — whether it’s the lovemaking or the childbirth — as potent and powerful as it can be,” says director Bill Condon, who knew he was working within the constraints of a PG-13 rating. “It will be interesting to see whether there will be people who think it too disturbing for this universe.” For her part, Stewart wishes the movie could have been even truer to the graphic nature of the book — not so much the honeymoon sequence (“It feels like a real love scene, not necessarily vampire-y, which is good”), but the brutal birth of the baby, Renesmee. “It’s funny because when [the PG-13 issue] comes up, everybody thinks it’s all about the sex,” she says. “The birth is really effective, and I’ve heard it really hits you in the face. But what it could have been? It could have been shocking and grotesque, because that’s how it was written in the book.” She sighs: “I would have loved to have been puking up blood.”

Taylor Lautner, who plays Jacob, says that even being a member of the wolf pack didn’t have its privileges. “Everybody is always complaining to me that I don’t have to wear the contacts, I don’t have to wear the white makeup or wear wigs and all that stuff. And I’m like, ‘I’m the one in the freezing rain and cold not wearing a shirt! I paid my dues in New Moon and Eclipse.’” And as for his plot arc in Part 2, which will involve falling for — or imprinting on — Renesmee? “There were many times I walked up to Stephenie [Meyer] and asked her, ‘What exactly is imprinting?’” says Lautner. “It’s still a very confusing thing for me, so don’t ask.”
