Thursday, March 15 and/or Friday, March 16, 2007.
Celebrate your love of college basketball in March by wearing your favorite teams apparel and making a $5 donation to fight cancer through research.
Show Your Spirit celebrates the victories of fighters on the court and in our lives. Its a day to honor our teammates who have survivedeveryday heroes with an undefeatable spirit and passion for life. We also remember our teammates that were taken to soon by this dreaded disease. Through research, we hope that Jims final dream will become a reality, that victims will become survivors, and that the disease that claims so many of our loved ones, will devastate no more.
Come play for The V Foundation team and join us for Show Your Spirit on Thursday, March 15 and/or Friday, March 16, 2007.
How it works? Donate a minimum of $5 to The V Foundation and wear your favorite teams apparel and jeans to work or school. It is as simple as wearing your teams favorite colors or your teams jersey. You can enroll as an individual or as a group.
Why participate? In the fight against cancer, we all play for the same team. One of every two men and one out of three women will get cancer in their lifetimes. Three out of every four American families will have at least one family member diagnosed with cancer. Research discoveries lead to better treatments and better understanding of the more than 100 diseases called cancer.
Where does the money go? The net proceeds from Show Your Spirit donations fund essential cancer research for all types of cancer. Since 1993, the V Foundation has raised more than $60 million for cancer research. Over the last 5 years an average of 83 cents of every dollar raised has been available for research.

How to engage your teammates?
*Create competition in the office between departments. (For example, see which department can raise more money to fight cancer).
*Create a competition between rival teams (For example, Duke vs. Carolina; Vikings vs. Packers; Yankees vs. Mets). See which team can get more supporters in the office.
*Center your Show Your Spirit event around a NCAA Mens basketball first or second round match up. Watch the game at work and host a potluck to encourage employee interaction.
