If you are a Designer & MAC user & ExpressionEngine fan & indie music lover, this article is for yu.
Portland is a town in Oregon (USA) and Graz a smaller city in Austria. How do come people from those cities together on the internet? Often through music. Tim Germer and friends from Portlans drive the podcast site northwestnoise.com presenting indie music from the northwest of the States. Since two years they regularly publish interviews, articles and podcasts of indipendent musicians. Lately the guys went online with nationalnoisemedia.com. A site podcasts from all over the places shall be published. nationalnoisemedia.com was designed by Wolfgang Bartelme who again is a highly recommended Austrian webdesigner. He is a bit the Austrian “Jon Hicks”. His site runs on EE. Currently Wolfgang publishes a series of EE articles.
So, if you are a Designer & MAC user & ExpressionEngine fan & indie music lover, check out those sites!
2 weeks ago i saw an ad on television inviting the viewer to vote for the top dog of Germany. 2 years ago there was a show going on: Top Ten Germans ever! Einstein, Gutenberg or Albrecht Durer? These guys have nothing in common, did not even live in the same time, but folks let me tell you such Top lists are important!
What, for Gods sake would you do if you would not know your countrys top dog or top (historical) citizen? Yeah, the universe probably collapses over your heads and you are helplessly lost.
Top Ten lists bear a kind of magic in themselfes. People who deal with numerology argue: 1 is fulfilled in 10, which is 1 in existence, and the power underlying all existence – the “source and root of eternal nature.” 10 creates all things and is the kingdom or crown of God’s creation.
Christian cultures believe in the Ten Commandments. 10 disciples followed Jesus and soon Germany knows all about their top 10 dogs!
If you are a web developer or designer you are probably interested in the top ten web devs or designers of the world. Arghh and it sucks if you are not on the list but your f**** neighbour is. Never mind, the net is full of top ten lists and chances are not so bad you eventually make it on one of those lists. Fact is, every clever blogger rolls out his/her top ten list once in a while. Don´t believe it? Here is the proof: toptentoptenlist.com.
I have to close this article now. My time is limited, do i have to go through the list of 100 dogs to find the top ten ones!
Important, important.

UPDATE While no longer free, the font is still relatively inexpensive for some nice outlines, at only 8 pounds (british). Great for illustration and logo work.
Just a couple of minutes ago, TXP 4.0.4 was released. Some nice news are: tagbuilder and UI are updated next to bugs and lots of other issues. Find the complete list of updates on the dev blog.
Thanks to wet (Robert Wetzlmayr) the Wikis taglist is more or less up to date too. Karsten Hesemann was so kind to update the german textpattern tag list.
This time many helping hands were involved in testing, sending patches and adding language files. Thanks to all who contributed!
Any aspiring Web designer who has ever sought a book on Photoshop has certainly stumbled upon one of the many comprehensive editions of 800+ pages that exist; but let’s be honest, who has ever tried consuming such a volume and not be overwhelmed, confused or frustrated?

Over the last 36 months I have been growing my skills as a web designer and HTML and CSS coder. I’ve been reading all that I could get my hands on, but over the last few months in particular I began to see a deficiency in a part of my work. The deficiency became clearer as I learned more about “interaction design patterns”:en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Interaction_design_pattern and their use in interface design.
It was time to do the necessary reading to find out more about these patterns and how the best User Interface (hereafter referred to as UI) designers implemented them for the success of their application or website. It was with this felt need that I picked up Designing Interfaces: Patterns for Effective Interaction Design ...
