Directions

Directions to Lindy in the Park at the new, interim location – just inside of 8th Avenue and Fulton St, along John F Kennedy Drive in the park (“behind” the new De Young Museum). Note that automobiles are not allowed into that area of the park on Sundays.

From the East Bay:

  • Take West 80 (Bay Bridge). Get into the middle lane.
  • Take the exit onto Central Fwy/US-101 N toward Golden Gate Bridge.
  • Continue on Octavia Blvd
  • Turn left at Fell St and continue westbound for about 1.5 miles
  • Once you’ve passed Masonic, you should get into the right lane
  • Make a right onto Stanyon
  • Head north on Stanyon, up the hill
  • At the top of the hill, make a left onto Fulton
  • Head west on Fulton, down the hill
  • Look for street parking around 9, 10 or 11th Ave
  • Enter the park by foot at 8th or 10th Ave
  • Listen for the music

From the North Bay:

  • Take 101 south (cross Golden Gate Bridge, stay in right lane).
  • Take 19th Ave/Park Presidio Blvd. exit.
  • Continue on Park Presidio Blvd.
  • You need to travel east on Fulton. However, since there is no left turn from Park Presidio, we suggest making a right turn when you reach Cabrillo, the a left onto 14th Ave, and from there a left at Fulton
  • Travel east on Fulton and look for street parking at around 11, 10, or 9th Avenue.
  • Enter the park by foot at 8th or 10th Avenue.

From the Peninsula:

  • Take 280 North Take the Junipero Serra/19th Ave. exit.
  • Veer left onto 19th Ave.
  • Enter Golden Gate Park and stay in the right lane.
  • When you exit the park, make an immmediate right onto Fulton.
  • Travel east on Fulton and look for street parking at around 11, 10, or 9th Avenue.
  • Enter the park by foot at 8th or 10th Avenue.

From the bandshell area:

  • Walk to the Japanese Garden entrance
  • Facing the entrance, follow the sidewalk going left
  • Make a right at the corner, and continue along the sidewalk.
  • Follow the footpath that veers to the right — you will walk by one of the Tea Garden’s exit gates.
  • Continue along the curving path — there are one or two inclines/descents.
  • Descending down the footpath will bring you to John F. Kennedy Drive, like an onramp, veering right.
  • Continue on JFK Jr Drive, going east – you’ll pass the construction’s portable office structures.
  • LitP will be right “behind” the new De Young Museum.

From within SF:

  • Find your way to Fulton
  • Look for street parking around 8, 9, 10, or 11th Avenue
  • Enter the park on foot at 8th or 10th Avenue

Public transportation:

  • Muni 44 line: stops at Fulton
  • Muni 5 line: goes right along Fulton Street (the northern boundary of the Park). Get off at 8th or 10th Avenue and walk into the park.
  • Muni 38 line: get off at 8th or 10th Avenue and walk south into the park (3 blocks)

    The directions to LiTP from the East Bay are somewhat out of date. Try these directions to the de Young Museum, which is right next to LiTP:
