The most visible of these programs is the very popular Readings & Conversations series which brings nationally and internationally recognized poets and writers to Santa Fe to read and discuss their work in a public setting. In 2011, we added a new series we call In Pursuit of Cultural Freedom, a lecture series featuring philosophers, writers, scholars, and social justice activists discussing political, economic, environmental, and human rights issues. We also periodically host art exhibitions in the Lannan Foundation Gallery and notices for those exhibitions will be included in this section.

Our events series usually begins each September and runs through May of the following year. A typical Readings & Conversations evening lasts about an hour and a half with the poet or writer reading from his or her work then having a conversation with another writer, poet, editor, publisher, or literary figure. A Cultural Freedom evening follows a similar format with a talk of about 45 minutes followed by a conversation, often with another expert in the area under discussion.

All Lannan events can be found here in the Events section; this was previously the Readings & Conversations section of our website.

Rebroadcasts of Readings & Conversations programs can be heard on KSFR 101.1 FM at 2:00 pm on the Sunday immediately after each event. Audio and video of most programs is available on the site generally within a week of the event and also in our podcast feed.
