Jason Segel won’t write the Muppets sequel

by Ben on March 1, 2012 · 2 comments

I suppose the more accurate headline would be Jason Segel “can’t” write the Muppets sequel. With his busy schedule filming TV’s “How I Met Your Mother” and press obligations for his films, including this year’s Five Year Engagement and Judd Apatow’s This Is Forty, there simply isn’t enough time for the busy actor/writer to fit another project into the mix. More details on who WILL be involved after the jump. continue reading »

First teaser trailer for Neighborhood Watch

by Ben on March 1, 2012 · 0 comments

Here’s the first trailer for Neighborhood Watch, this summer’s comedy featuring Ben Stiller, Vince Vaughn, Jonah Hill, and actor/director Richard Ayoade. It’s directed by Akiva Schaeffer of Lonely Island fame; he also directed Hot Rod starring Andy Samburg. For those of you who have never heard of the movie (or those who have forgotten about it), it follows a group of bored suburban guys who form a neighborhood watch group just so they can hang out together. But then aliens get involved, and it falls on them to save the world. You won’t see any of that alien stuff here, but it gives us a good idea of the tone of the film. Check it out after the jump. continue reading »

International Box Office: The Rider unleashes his vengeance around the world

by Alex on February 29, 2012 · 0 comments

spacer Guess what, Ghost Rider: Spirit of Vengeance took first place at the international box office in a very much surprising way. Now don’t get me wrong, one 1st place won’t turn this into a hit so don’t go all crazy just yet. A very close second was Journey 2: The Mysterious Island while Safe House was 3rd.

Emma Watson joins Sofia Coppola’s The Bling Ring

by Liam on February 29, 2012 · 2 comments

spacer Emma Watson is having no trouble landing roles now that Harry Potter is over. Over recent months we’ve heard that she’ll be re-teaming with David Yates for Your Voice In My Head and will be directed by Guillermo del Toro in a live-action adaptation of Beauty and the Beast. Now the actress has been chosen by Sofia Coppola to lead her next movie, The Bling Ring.

Bill Murray says he won’t do Ghostbusters 3

by Ben on February 29, 2012 · 2 comments

I know, I know – we’re getting just as tired of all of this back and forth surrounding Ghostbusters 3 as you are. But when you look at it, it’s not so much “back and forth” as it is “Dan Akroyd shooting his mouth off,” so it should come as no surprise that the most recent update from the former Blues Brother is that “Bill Murray will not do the movie.” Seems pretty definitive, and a good indicator that the film should just be abandoned. Wait, what’s that? Akroyd still wants to make it? Give me a break. continue reading »

Here’s the new trailer for The Avengers!

spacer Paramount has finally released the much anticipated trailer for the epic superhero mash-up The Avengers and as usual, it does not disappoint. The main focus of the trailer is still centered around the big battle in the streets of New York, but there’s still a whole bunch of new footage to geek over.
