These were all for the same client.
The cat and dog, Orestes and Georgie Girl, like to play in the garden, eat herbs, and kill frog and moles. I received a lot of information for potential scenarios and decided that while the animals could be taunting their prey in the picture that dead frogs may not be the cutest thing.
For the dog portrait of Leila the client wanted something more serious. The dog is no longer alive and usually I go with something a little more reserved and serious in this case. I love putting animals in chairs because it feels so much like a traditional portrait.
This awesome commission was for a repeat customer who always asks me to do the pet alternatives like bunnies or in this case a guinea pig. This little guy is really cute and as usual fun to paint.
I always love commissions that have people with their animals. It is fun enough to draw an animal, but there is something so great about seeing the relationship between animal and owner.
A really fun commission. A little girl who loves her uncle and eats peanut butter by the bowl because he loves peanut butter.
A commission of a sign for a little girls fictitious restaurant “Pooloue” a french bistro. I included blues and golden, the colors of southern France. A fun little commission where I was able to use hand type as the main design element.

“….Charrow, who will be running Robot, Monster & Ghost: New York starting October 31. Our New York office will be specializing in illustration and identity design to start with. God knows what madness it’ll end up with in 2-3 months time. I can’t promise you people anything solid, but I can say with 100% certainty we’ll be flying dragons and burning villages (we’ll spare the wenches, we’re not all bad) by the end of 2011.”

Working a couple of big freelance projects. A little logo work and some full color illustrations of interiors. I am super excited to share the projects when they are done and introduce the you to the companies. Some of the work will be used in formats I have never seen my work in before and I think that will be amazing; I will have pictures.
