Biography

spacer Fast Planet is:
Wil Deshazo: Production, Keys, Vocals
Landon Moore: Production, Keys, Bass
Jared Rawlinson: Production
Brandon Herrington: Guitar, Vocals

Based in Memphis, Tennessee, the Fast Planet project is the latest installment of musical endeavors pursued by the four. The work can be classified as electronic pop influenced by Thom Yorke, Telefon Tel Aviv, Aphex Twin and others.

Wil, Jared and Brandon have been playing music together since 1999, part of the founding membership of the ambient rock band, Dora. Dora released two albums, the Fascination with Airplanes EP and the full length, Dead Horse Lounge, the latter being record by Matt Talbott (Hum) and mixed by Keith Cleversley (Flaming Lips, Hum, Mercury Rev, Spiritualized). Additional members of Dora included singer Ben Canady and guitarist Brandon Kinder (The Rocketboys and The Wealthy West). Dora, a mainstay in the local scene, toured sporadically from 1999 to 2002 until disbanding in 2003.

After the break up of Dora, Wil, Jared and Brandon teamed with Brandon Kinder and Landon Moore for a small project titled U.S. Sunday. Landon had met the group while in the band Square State. Together for a little over 6 months, the group recorded three tracks with Matt Talbott in Champaign, IL before parting ways. Brandon Kinder moved to Texas and became the lead singer of The Rocketboys.

In June of 2004, Wil, Jared, Brandon and Landon teamed with Seth Hendricks to found This Is Goodbye. The band had a brief speculative deal with Memphis Records, the now defunct label of Young Avenue Sound. During that period, the band recorded the Shapes and Numbers EP recorded with Willie Pevear (Waylon Jennings, Johnny Cash) and Ross Rice (Human Radio, Peter Frampton, Garrison Starr). It was mixed by Kevin Houston (North Mississippi Allstars, Black Snake Moan). This Is Goodbye toured sporadically, performing with Mute Math, Cursive and Headlights during that time. The group disbanded in 2006.

From that time to present, Landon Moore has continued to pursue music full-time serving as bass player for Chase Pagan, Jeremy Stanfill and the Patrick Dodd Band among others. In late 2010, This Is Goodbye formally reunited for a short stint of shows. By the beginning of 2011, Wil and Landon had begun producing electronic music separately and discussions began of how to create a cohesive project. The two were joined by Jared and Brandon and the four began a year-long process of experimenting and writing in the electronic realm. What has culminated is the full-length album, Jes, released February 21st 2012. The album was mixed by James Joseph (Myla Smith, Ryan Peel) and mastered by Brad Blackwood (Against Me, Maroon 5, Alison Krauss, The Black Eyed Peas).
