Source Code
GenPass is a tool that allows the retrieval of the decryption key for the main filesystem DMG in a 3.0+ IPSW file. It requires the ramdisk in the IPSW to be decrypted so that it can do the proper hashing required to get the main filesystem key.

Like many people out there I have a 3gs that was jailbroken with redsn0w 0.9.6b6 (now has Ipad baseband) and unlocked with Ultrasn0w stuck in recovery mode. I have been googleing for days and everyone out there is throwing around ideas about how to resolve the problem but I am fearful of causing more damage. Is there a thread to a solution done (for Windows os) by a knowledgeable person that you know of?
use tinyumbrella, run as administrator if on win7. modmyi.com forums are pretty safe if you listen to just the experienced moderators.

Hello, I’m new to the iphone jailbreak thing and wondering if anyone could help me out? I followed instructions for the greenpoison jailbreak and it said jailbreak i clicked it it said jailbreak complete and i was left with txt on my phone. it said it would reboot automatically but i didnt wait long enough or somethin and freaked out thinkin i messed up my phone. I unplugged it from the usb and realized more txt was comin up on my iphone. so i plugged it back in and am still waiting.the last thing it keeps sayin failed to get apples5l8920xarm7m after 10 sec and has repeated that till 490 sec now. how do i start over im guessing this is not normal? anyone help me out? thanks

As last time, announcement said the jailbreak tool for ipad2 could be released last week, what is the status?
It has come to the attention of several people in the know that the Ipad 2 will not be jailbroken anytime soon if at all. Though a few technical reasons were given for this, it appears that @COMEX and members of his group are unable to produce the code needed to jailbreak this device.
The team will continue to focus their efforts on jailbreaking the anticipated IOS 5.0 release and due to their interests in that area, no further work will be done on the Ipad 2.
Sadly for those of you waiting to jailbreak your Ipad 2 you should understand now that no jailbreak for this device will ever be released and any and all speculation or reference to one being developed is totally false.

i just tried to jail break my iphone. i used your application, and followed the steps to the t. it did come up with the first screen with the small writting. i do not understand what it all means. there are a couple succeededs, and complete. but now it has been stuck at apples5l8920x10psd10iopmanager::init(): failed to get after 2770 seconds. what is wrong? what do i do?
