Putty is a freeware implementation of SSH, Rlogin and Telnet protocols. Client application for SSH and Telnet, SCP and SFTP, application to generate RSA and DSA keys, and much more. Putty works not only on Windows, but also on Linux. There are also third-party modifications of Putty for Mac OS X, iPhone, Android, Symbian, Windows Mobile, etc now. The original version of PuTTY has been created and is maintained by Simon Tatemom.
Putty allows you to connect to remote host and manage it. PuTTY implements the client side of connections - display side, meanwhile the work itself is performed by another side(server) .
