Welcome to Plastics. Too Valuable To Waste. Recycle.TM

“Too much plastic – including some of the most readily recyclable products in the world – is ending up as litter on our beaches and in our waterways. We know Californians want to recycle more. This website highlights our commitment to work with government officials, nonprofit groups and potentially other recycling partners to help make our environment cleaner and provide for the future of California.”

- Steve Russell, Vice President, ACC Products Division

In California, on behalf of America’s plastics companies, the American Chemistry Council (ACC) partners with nonprofit organizations, private companies, and public officials across the state to promote recycling and help protect the beautiful environment where we live, work and play.

This site offers information on how state government, the private sector and nonprofit groups have formed public-private partnerships to increase the recycling of plastics and educate young people in California  about the importance of recycling with the goal of keeping recyclable plastics out of landfills, oceans and waterways.

State and local governments are facing unprecedented budget constraints. In today’s challenging economic climate, public-private partnerships are more important than ever as a means to spread the message that recycling today will help preserve our great state tomorrow and for generations to come.
