Our Mission

Our official mission: To end the killing & no more homeless pets by January 1, 2015

That may sound like an aggressive goal, but we believe that just by having a mission we are far more likely to achieve it, and what’s more we firmly believe that we will achieve it.

We started Pet Pardons for one very simple reason, to give pets in shelters a better chance at being Adopted.

Over the years Ashley & I have spent a lot of time in shelters & rescues across America, and one thing was very clear, not enough people were visiting to make sure that all the pets would get Adopted. We believed that it was all about numbers, and that if we could put these pets in front of enough people then they would all get Adopted.

So, in December of 2010, we built a Facebook app which enabled anyone to post pets from shelters, and then enabled others to share them on their walls with the click of a button, the Advocate button. You can install & view the app at apps.facebook.com/petpardons/

We also started a fan page with two goals in mind, firstly to feature some to the pets listed on our app, and secondly to help educate people about the plight of America’s pets.

Today tens of thousands of people use our App & Page every day, and thousands of pets have been Adopted as a result. We have a long way to go before we achieve our mission, but every day we are getting closer, thanks to our amazing and diverse Community across America & beyond.
