Marcon would like to thank our Panelists for taking the time each year to share their knowledge and experiences with our members. Time and time again they step up to entertain and educate us with their wit and vast stores of information.
Attention: If you are listed on this page you have been listed as a panelist and will be scheduled. Our Programming department is hard at work juggling people to fit everyone into time slots. If your schedule does not show anything scheduled or not as many as you signed up for, please be patient with us. Schedules will be sent out by May8th.

Gordon Aubrecht (schedule)
Gordon Aubrecht has been doing science almost as long as hes been reading SF. He teachers physics at OSU and is author of about a dozen books, including Energy (Pearson, 2006).

Marshall Barnes (schedule)
Marshall Barnes is an internationally noted researcher and R&D engineer. He is one of the world's leading researchers in invisibility technology and the inventor of the STDTS proto-technology for warp drive. He lectures frequently and participates in the USA Science and Engineering Festival.

Ben Bays (schedule)
Check out the series William Shatner calls "Impressive & Innovative!" Set in the year 2064, AIDAN 5 chronicles the journey of one detective who must unravel the mystery behind the serial killings of his own clones. This 16-episode living comic book is told through a unique style of filmmaking and sketched art.

Eric Beebe (schedule)
Eric Beebe is the owner/founder of Post Mortem Press. Post Mortem Press an author-centric small press that has released of 30 novels and anthologies. They have published well known authors like Jack Ketchum, Jonathan Maberry, F. Paul Wilson, and Joe Schreiber, along with up-and-coming authors like Paul Anderson, Brad Carter, Kenneth W. Cain, Joseph Williams and many many more.

Laura Bickle (schedule)
Laura Bickle is the author of the urban fantasy novels EMBERS and SPARKS, urban fantasies from Pocket-Juno Books. Writing as Alayna Williams, she's also the author of DARK ORACLE and ROGUE ORACLE. She lives in Ohio with her chief muse, where they are owned by a herd of barely-reformed feral cats.

Kevin Bloomfield (schedule)
Kevin Bloomfield is a student at Ohio State who has maintained a love of science fiction and fantasy since an early age. His main interests are in Space Opera, Alternative History and Urban Fantasy in addition to cultural juggernauts Harry Potter and Star Wars and is excited to attend his second Marcon.

Courtney Brown (schedule)
Courtney Brown is an amateur Sherlock Holmes enthusiast who co-moderates www.holmesian.net. She is a librarian and aspiring writer who can often be found with her Watson, usually attempting to corral a certain rotten feline. She does not intend to keep bees when she retires, though Sussex does sound quite nice.

Cara Cioffari (alias Inonibird) is an artist. writer and musician who suffers from Creative ADD, rendering her incapable of focusing on one project at a time. Professionally she's a toy designer. Non professionally, she works on her webcomic C'est ld Morl. Mostly, she enjoys drawing stuff in places with things.

Faye Clark (schedule)
My name is Faye Clark, and I have been doing chainmail for about five years. Im an anthropology and archaeology undergraduate at Mercyhurst College in Erie, PA, where I am an officer in the Asian Cultures Club and working to start the Prometheus Club, which deals with recreating prehistoric technology.

David B Coe (schedule)
David B. Coe is the award-winning author of eleven fantasy novels. As D. B. Jackson he has written a new historical fantasy called "Thieftaker"(for July 2012). He also wrote the novelization of Ridley Scott's Robin Hood and co-author of "How To Write Magical Words: A Writer's Companion".

Carol Conquest (schedule)
Was at one point on her way to becoming a legendary bootlegger, until she ran out of boots. Now works as an unlicensed freelance cosmonaut. If you find her to be difficult, you can engage cheat mode with up-left-A-B-B-left-start.

Robbie J Cupp (schedule)
R.J. Cupp was born in 1518 in the village of Glenfinnan on the shores of Loch Shiel. He has moved silently down through the centuries, living many secret lives, struggling to reach the time of Marcon 47; when the few who remain will battle to the last.

Lalana Dararutana (schedule)
PJ Schnyder is an author of sci-fi and paranormal romance, steampunk and urban fantasy, a sometimes gamer and all the time otaku.

Charles D Davis (schedule)
He once found this really great stool.

A.l. Davroe (schedule)
A.L. Davroe writes both YA and adult speculative fiction. She focuses on revisionist tales in paranormal, romance, Steampunk, and fantasy. A number of Davroe's short stories have been published through small press and she has completed several novels for publication.

Ariyana Dragonwagon (schedule)
Ariyana is widely known as the Hugging Wench. She has been doing costuming for 28 years in particular for her 5 children. Ariyana regularly participates in Renaissance faires, Pirate and Viking re-eneactments, some for charity. She is also quite involved with the Loveland castle and also their Knights tourneys. A former assistant Librarian, she loves books and reading and hopes to eventually write a book of her own.

Charles Ebert (schedule)
Chuck Ebert makes his living as a librarian in Durham, NC. In March he had his first short story published in Aoife's Kiss. He also writes a movie review blog called The Other Ebert at theotherebert.wordpress.com/

Megan Fogt is the manager of the childrens room at Carnegie Library of Pittsburgh Squirrel Hill and has a masters degree in library and information science from the University of Pittsburgh. She loves her jobesp. since she gets paid to discuss books and films with enthusiastic teens on topics such as which wizard is better Dumbledore or Gandolf.

Paul Hahn (schedule)
Paul Hahn learned to read from his brothers Tom Swift Jr. books. By middle school he had read through all the SF in his local branch public library, in alphabetical order. He enjoys exposing people to unconventional ideas like recumbent bicycles and shoes with toes, sometimes simultaneously.

John Hamilton (schedule)
Plans to party in December like it's Sept. 13, 1999 at the Cafe Tiem after stopping off at the Buy More for cheese puffs and Subway subs. And remember, don't panic, wherever you do there you are and anything that sucks can be blown.

Cora Helton (schedule)
Cora Helton is the Head Director of The Fishnet Mafia, and can be found at their performance of The Rocky Horror Picture Show on the first Saturday of every month, where she also Emcee's the pre-show, and preforms the characters of Janet and Rocky. On the third Saturday of each month she spreads her wings as the Artistic Director and performer for The Midnight Shift, a local shadow cast troupe. When she's not acting like an idiot in front of the screen, she spends time with her husband, Benson, her dog Dr. Bones McCoy, and her mustachioed cat Frida Pawlo.

In addition to participating in SCA combat for many years I have also done historical reenactment which includes; Imperial Roman Army legionary and officer impressions, American Western Frontier Gunfighter, Middle Ages Muscovite Streltzi (Russian Musketeer), WWII Red Army soldier, Cold War-Era Soviet Forces, and Yugoslav War-Era Serbian Chetnik. I have a working knowledge of the Russian language and am a fan of horror, science fiction, classical and neo-film noir.

Howard is a veterinarian from Guelph, Ontario, with 32 years experience in regulatory medicine (food safety), and 38 years experience as a SF fan. He has been on the concom of FilKONtario since its beginning (22 years), and before that, worked for eight years as Con Operations for the early Ad Astras in Toronto. In what he laughingly calls his "spare time" he's an instructor with the Royal Canadian Army Cadets in Guelph, and has served as its Commanding Officer.

Chris Stephenson, or Critch Starblade if you prefer, marks his 17th Marcon. Actor in The Fishnet Mafia and the Buffy Sing-A-Long, Cast Director of The Midnight Shift, and retired Admiral of the U.S.S. Maximillian. I did Masquerade for 10 years, most known as the Cardboard Tube Samurai.

Vicki Stewart (schedule)
Vicki Stewart loves Doctor Who so much, she named her chihuahuas The Doctor and Rory! (No Amy or River, but time can be rewritten.) Vicki performs with the improv comedy troupes, Parlor Tricks and the Dixie Cups, acts with Broadway2LA Acting Studio and sang 19 years with the CSO Chorus.

William A Thomasson (schedule)
Bill Thomasson is a medical writer assisting researchers with their papers and grant applications (which have been described as the real science fiction) but has a broad interest in all areas of science and futurology. He is also, as someone who advancing age has left legally blind, interested in all disability issues.

Rachel Thurston (schedule)
Rachel Thurston considers her day job as a real-life mad scientist working in an undisclosed location to be excellent preparation for her role as a Marcon panelist. She also holds a black belt in taekwondo, which makes her eminently qualified to play Buffy in the Buffy Sing-Along while fighting off rabid fanboys.

Michelle is an avid fanfic writer and karaoke singer. She loves Supernatural, Doctor Who, Sherlock, Castle, and more! She also enjoys shadow casting and has recently joined the cast of The Midnight Shift who shadow cast a new movie every month at the Grandview Theatre.

Faith Van Horne (schedule)
Faith Van Horne is a librarian, editor and writer of speculative fiction. Her horror novella, All Hope Lost, is now available. She is also the author of the young adult fantasy novel Slideways.

Denise Verrico (schedule)
Denise Verrico is the author of the Immortyl Revolution vampire series, Cara Mia, Twilight of the Gods, My Fearful Symmetry and Servant of the Goddess published by L&L Dreamspell.

Tim Waggoner (schedule)

Donna Daio Waltz is an animal lover whose artistic talents bring fantasy to life. She switched from oils and pastels to digital art because she got tired of her cats smudging her canvases. A scientist by day, she creates images of unique and memorable fantasy creatures by night.

Jeffrey A Wolfe (schedule)
Jeff Wolfe has been slouching about for many years. Last year, he finally managed to join Psi Phi Columbus. It was also his first year in the Buffy shadowcast. When he's not doing that stuff, you'll probably find him playing board games.

Pamela Wright (schedule)
Psi Phi Columbus resident Confessor, Pamela Wright is attending her ninth MARCON (her seventh as a panelist). She works and lives in Middleburg Heights. She follows Legend of the Seeker, Babylon 5, and Star Trek as well as NASCAR, CSI, NCIS, and anything related to the NHL.

Thom Zahler (schedule)
Thom Zahler is the write/artist/creator of the superhero romantic comedy "Love and Capes". He also works as a cartoonist and illustrator for anyone who can pay him.
