Air Gages
An air gage is an easy to use instrument that requires little or no training, and is designed to provide and accurate measurement of dimensions with very tight tolerances-typically 0.005 in. or smaller. Air gages work simply by inserting the gage into a hole or over a shaft diameter. A reading is given almost instantly. Air gages are reliable and cost-effective, and are often utilized as the primary method for obtaining precise measurements.
ANPT Ring Gages
Thread Check Inc. offers a complete range of Aeronautical National Form Taper Pipe Thread Ring Gages per SAE AS71051. ANPT thread ring gages are intended for use on pipe, plugs, fittings, and similar devices in aeronautical components and equipment requiring a sealed thread joint and where straight threads and gaskets or O-rings are inadequate.
BA Thread Ring Gages
The British Association standard thread form is recommended by the British Standards Institute for screws smaller than instead of BSW and BSF threads. BA threads are similar to Whitworth threads in terms of rounded crests and roots except that the symmetrical angles are 47 degrees and 30 minutes and the crest and root radiuses are proportionately larger.
BSF Thread Ring Gage
The British Standard Fine Screw thread is known as a parallel screw thread of Whitworth form having a 55 degree included angle. With the standardization of Unified threads, the BSF Whitworth thread form is typically being utilized for replacement parts. Steel bolts of inch and below should not be made to close class limits and instead should be specified to medium class and free class limits. Close class threads should be applied to screw threads requiring a tight fit.
BSPP Thread Ring Gages
Thread Check Inc. offers a complete line of British parallel pipe threads per ISO 228 and BS -2779. In March 2003 the British Standards Institute withdrew BS-2779 and replaced it with ISO-228. ISO 228 1 covers pipe threads where pressure-tight joints are not made on the threads. ISO 228 2 covers the limit gages for pipe threads where pressure-tight joints are not made on the threads. ISO 1179, pipe connection, threaded to ISO 228-1 and gauged with ISO 228 2 gauges for plain end steel and other metal tubes in industrial applications. BSPP Thread gages have a 55 degree thread profile.
BSW Thread Ring Gages
The British Standard Coarse Screw thread is known as a parallel screw thread of Whitworth form having a 55 degree included angle. With the standardization of Unified threads, the BSW Whitworth thread form is typically being utilized for replacement parts. Steel bolts of inch and below should not be made to close class limits and instead should be specified to medium class and free class limits. Close class threads should be applied to screw threads requiring a tight fit.
Feeler Gages
Feeler gages are a commonly used tool in inspection and engineering applications, designed to provide a precise measurement of the clearance or gap between two components or dimensions. Feeler gages are useful in many applications, and are typically comprised of a set flexible pieces of carbon steel, each with a specific thickness denoting a precise measurement, either in imperial units or metric. Using feeler gages ensures that components are spaced properly apart so as to function effectively.
