The NSSGA Annual Convention is an opportunity to renew old friendships, make new ones and share ideas. This is the one event that enables each of us to capitalize on the great strengths and expertise of our peers. That collective knowledge and experience will ensure that we’re ready to take advantage of a recovering economy and the growth that is sure to follow.

Highlights of this year’s convention are the Martin Marietta Arrowood Quarry tour and numerous activities and tours for spouses.

There's an added bonus. The AGG1 Aggregates Forum & Expo and the World of Asphalt will also be in town, and when you register for the convention, you will receive a free pass to both!

spacer Defining our Destiny!

Given the experiences we’ve all had recently, we can presume that no one with the power to define it would have picked this industry’s destiny of the past three years.

While it’s been tough, we continue to fight. The theme of our 2012 Annual Convention is “The American Spirit.” It’s the American spirit on which we rely not only to drive a recovery, but it’s also the American spirit that we want to reinvigorate.

We come together as an industry because we share a belief. We come together because we recognize our responsibility to redefine our destiny. We recognize that it’s this unity that makes us an influential voice that will be heard in this recovery.

Our industry and our country have been beaten down by forces that we’d otherwise expect to play an important part in lifting us up. Values such as perseverance, commitment to quality, sacrifice to achieve the greater good all work to focus us and illuminate the way out of any dispiriting darkness. Yet, the flame of our common values still burns brightly in us, our families, our employees, our customers and our communities.

You need only head over to the AGG1 Forum & Expo, where “American Ingenuity” is on display, playing an important part in redefining our destiny. In classrooms and on the exhibit floor, the American spirit, like green shoots after a fire, is leading the way in bringing this country back to life.

In the past, this convention has celebrated leadership for the industry. Now we celebrate our resilience and collaboration, yielding new ideas on how we’ll help in defining our destiny.

I look forward to seeing you in Charlotte.
