Television Licensing

In June 2006, JANET(UK) (then Ukerna) sought advice from the Television Licensing Policy Group, regarding television licensing requirements in conjunction with IPTV. This resulted in JANET(UK)'s statement on Television Licensing and IP Television Services, which offers guidance to the JANET community.

In regards to recent questions over IPTV and copyright legislation, it is recommended that advice from lawyers and legal advisors be sort within your own educational establishment.

With contributions from the IPTV Special Interest Group, JANET has created the Internet and Broadcast Media Strategy. This strategy highlights JANET(UK)'s strategy for current and potential video applications.
