No international involvement at interzum moscow in 2012
Organisational changes at Russian partner MVK not feasible for the interzum trade fair format
Koelnmesse is rethinking its international involvement in interzum moscow parallel to Interkomplekt and the Euroexpofurniture (EEM) trade fair. The trade fair was to have taken place for the sixth time in April 2012. Since 2004, interzum moscow has firmly established itself within the industry alongside Interkomplekt and Euroexpofurniture (EEM). interzum moscow (held every two years) is considered an important platform in Russia and Eastern Europe for international manufacturers in the furniture supplier and interior finishing industries. Unfortunately, current circumstances will keep them from presenting themselves on the market in their usual form. Following an intense phase of deliberations, Koelnmesse has now decided not to go ahead with this year’s interzum moscow 2012.
“As things currently stand, we regret that we do not find ourselves in a position to meet the high demands of recent years at this location together with our partners,” said Markus Majerus, Communications Manager at Koelnmesse. A great deal of restructuring is currently taking place on the Russian furniture trade fair market. From Koelnmesse’s perspective, last-minute changes to organisational specifications at this point in time could lead to major impairments in quality were it to go ahead with its international involvement in interzum moscow in 2012.
The event had become well established in the Russian market in recent years, though this is also tied to the high demands of international exhibitors supported by Koelnmesse. “At the beginning of this year our partner MVK informed us about a radical change to the defined trade fair concept. The remaining space on offer is not adequate to enable our clients to present themselves appropriately”, continues Markus Majerus. Koelnmesse will therefore not be attending this year.
